    WTF?
ANTHONY BELLEW (Holder) v PAUL DAVID
The Stewards decided to approve a request for the above voluntary defence contest to take place on Saturday, 17th September 2011 at the Olympia, Liverpool.

I thought the Cleverly fight was a done deal?

    Some good fights...
    Cox/Matthew Hall as a eliminator
Purse bids out for Theophane/Nigel Wright
Steve Williams vs Karl Place, what a great fight!
Stephen Smith will be taking on Lee Selby :think
Chris Edwards/Shinny Bayaar II...Shinny deserves this shot.
Joe Murray taking on a undefeated fighter in Chris Male (anyone know anything about him?)

To be fair it's a big step back for Selby.

He really should get a world title fight after shutting al-Hamidi out over six rounds :hey

The Bellew fight is bizarre, a really **** fight IMO.

David really doesn't make for good fights. All style no substance.

Cox/Hall and Williams/Place are BRILLIANT fights! And they won't even be main events :yep

 We knew about that anyway, along with Crolla/Limond and a few others.

The ones I mentioned hadn't being announced yet (I think)

What the ****? Who the hell is Anthony Bellew and why is he being forced to defend a title he won only two months ago against a guy that hasn't even fought in an eliminator :huh

its a voluntary so I assume its been proposed by Bellews team, and the board have endorsed it

Oh yeah  Sorry forget that didn't read it properly :patsch

In that case it makes sense IMO. It's a chance for Tony to redeem himself to the casual after boring everyone in his last fight.

I'm glad Tony is getting another fight before taking on Clev but I have to say that this is a strange fight to make. Paul David is an awkward archetype Ingle fighter (if there is such thing seeing as they all fight the same) and Bomber has already taken on an awkward fighter in Bob Ajisafe. Because of this I'm not sure what he can learn much by taking this fight and it is hardly going to help promote the big fight against Clev, because this will not be a good fight and I cannot see Tony getting the stoppage.

Well Bellew's definitely never gonna get anywhere special if Bob Ajisafe, Ovill McKenzie and Paul David continue to be 'awkward' fights.

Tony-David is a terrible fight. Don't expect Bellew too look good.

    Williams/Place will be a war!
