Ever wondered if those that you are sparring have any diseases eg aids? recently a few of us are suspecting that one of the guys has the virus,no doubt about it. What is the best way to confront the situation? shall we just banish him from the gym. Already we dont spar with him incase we catch anything, hes a lazy sod in every aspect in the gym, never throws a punch in sparring just goes against the ropes, lowers his hands and gets his head beat off. He has the general look of a junkie and we have noticed some lesions on his skin (at least we think they are). I hope that this thread can be useful to others with recognising health risks.
i have thought this myself before, i mean at a pro level theres medicals and tests i imagine for all this but you cant tell at the lower levels. the only way around it would be for the gym to demand people to provide blood results of anyone who wants to spar. which actually as silly as it sounds isnt probably a bad idea. Aids is obviously the one everyone thinks of but its actually pretty difficult to catch , i highly doubt you would pick it up with bloody flying around. Its a fragile virus that doesnt survive in open air. Has to be transmitted through contact. For example you wouldnt get it kissing he guy :smooch
I'd be more worried about hep C if he looks like a junkie. Virulent as hell and sticks to everything. If it's a genuine concern blood tests are the only way to be sure, but I imagine they could be expensive.
Why would you banish him from the gym? If he has aids doesnt he still have a right to to train? By any chance this "lazy sod" wouldnt be better then you would he?
NO! he does **** all around the gym, pisses everyone of 24/7. folk from my gym will be on later tonight to back me up on this. If you have aids you shouldnt put other peoples lifes at risk, you should just go away and die
Hardly putting your life at risk by training is he. unless you make him bleed and lick up his blood while you have a cut lip yourself
he is probably just a lazy and unhealthy loser. maybe they are bedsores from playing video games non stop.
I have to agree with billy here, more tests should be required in amateur boxing IMO, i also share the same gym as this guy and i am now skeptical to spar with him as the guy smells and just looks generally very unhealthy.
Yup me too...aids isnt easy to catch and niether is Hep c...tho Hep c is easier to catch than aids..alot of variables have to be at play. It can happen but the chance is no different than a needle stick (some say) http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,984177,00.html That being said I agree 100% and I wouldnt touch the dirty SOB
its not tommy one punch machine gun ur talking bout is it!?!?!?!? seen him uptown the other day with his boifreind he was screaming at me fae the other side of the pricnes street to get my attention lol
