Floyd Mayweather got tagged by Mosley in the 2nd, but that mean he was "almost knocked out"? Roy Jones got popped by Tarver in the 11th round of their third fight, but was it enough to say "he almost got knocked out again"? Amir Khan in the 10th round against Maidana. Was Khan "almost knocked out"? Shane Mosley in his first fight with Forrest. The 2nd round. Was Mosley "almost knocked out"? The above are just example fights in which one can debate if one fighter was almost knocked out, or just temporairily hurt. Feel free to add your own and give you opinions on the subject.
To me just getting hurt from a punch like Mayweather did isn't almost getting KOed. It was more like the start of a chain of things that could lead to KO but it never got past the first stage. If Mosley then knocked him down and he got up wobbly or he pinned him against the ropes and he wasn't fighting back, then we might be talking.
Khan and Mosley were dangerously close to getting stopped, especially Mosley from memory. Floyd wasn't close and i can't remember the RJJ one off the top of my head, would have to watch it again.
Briggs was almost knocked out from the 1st til the 12th round by Klitschko. Unbelievable display of courage. Does anyone know where Shannon is these days? Will he be back?
no hard and fast rule. it's kind of an in the moment thing, you know, the moment we all have when we jump out of our chairs shouting "the ref's about to jump in"
All those fighters were more out of it than Holyfield in the Toney fight, Malignaggi in the Hatton fight, and Lamotta when SRR stopped him.
This:deal Legs buckling is nowhere near getting knocked out, chicken legs on the otherhand.............
Gatti ninth round against Ward how the **** did he get up from that body shot the look of absolute agaony on his face!!!
What about Pavlik against Taylor. if that was against Calzaghe for instance that fight wouyld have been 2nd round tko for Calzaghe
Mosley Amir, he was running for his dear life, staring at the clock, and even looked at the ref for help
