Chad Dawson: I am training to knock out Hopkins.

    Dawson before he fought Adamek trained 6 hard weeks with Mayweather Sr and look what happened, it payed off. Before Dawson fought Tarver for the first time he trained 8 hard weeks and the results? He looked like his old self.

    Dawson always had the ability to starch his opponents, he showed that earlier in his career, and against Adamek and Tarver.

    It really depends how Dawson is motivated to win. When he fought Pascal he obviously wasn't motivated. Dawson slacked off against Tarver (II) and Johnson (II) despite winning convincingly. Against Diaconu he rusty and had a new trainer.

    This time Dawson is very motivated, he will look like his old self. Steward will push Dawson to train hard and the results will show come fight night.

    You won't need the vcash, just wait for the fight.

    If he is nothing more than a proven hype job, than why has Hopkins been avoiding him for years? You should have checked out the ESB forums two and three years ago. Many people were saying Dawson would have knocked out Hopkins, many people were saying Dawson is too fast. I'll admit Dawson has regressed and Hopkins has upped his resume, and look at the posters such as yourself now, you guy's are all over Hopkins nuts.

    My opinion is the same three years ago, I think Dawson will be too much for Hopkins. It will look like a Mayweather vs Hernandez domination.

    Dawson isn't anything like Trinidad, Dawson is a much more skilled boxer, faster, and has better ring IQ.

    He would have to throw punches in order for this to happen. Good choice of opponent for Hopkins.

    If anyone stinks out the arena and makes it a borefest it will be Hopkins. That's his specialty when up against a challenging opponent.

    Dawson isn't active enough to beat Hopkins never mind KO Hopkins he's had 4 fights with boxers in their 40's (or close to) and in one of them he got a huge gift of a decision and the in the others he knocked out a grand total of 0 people :lol::patsch now all of a sudden this feather fisted hypejob is going to KO an ATG in Hopkins and you're sure it'll happen because you've got an avatar of him up. :nut

    So Dawson will get tagged a lot....

    Dawson may win but buy KO....don't think so. He don't have a SINGLE ko over anyone of note....

    Expect to see the Benard Hopkins of the Jones & Calzahge fights, complaining, fight dirty and afraid to engage, I haven't favored anyone over Hopkins since Taylor, Chad is an extremely good boxer has fast hands and good jab, he has everything needed to out-box Hopkins...

    He doesn't fight in spurts like Pascal, he's not robotic and one dimensional like Pavlik, only way I see a loss for Chad is way of robbery, it may be boring but I think there will be action, Bad Chad will retire B-Hop, I just can't see him winning...

    On paper, Dawson should win. Young, fast, excellent reach, southpaw, good movement, good technique. The problem is he was also supposed to win against Pascal. What happened? He was not motivated, I can buy that to a certain extent. He could have made some adjustments in the ring but was not able to. Dawson has not a good ring IQ nor a good IQ period. Boxing is not his favourite sport, it may not even his second favourite. It is a job for him and that explains a lot of things. What will happen if Hopkins makes his gameplan derail? Will he be able to adjust? He never did in any of his fights. He can only apply a plan A. I won't bet much on any of the boxers that night because it's not an easy fight to predict. Dawson should win but Hopkins is good in that kind of situation.

    both es and roach are at stages in their respective careers where they do not take upon themselves anything but near sure things.

    simply put, they do not have the time to waste as said time is extremely valuable and in-demand.

    are you seriously undermining es' decision to take on dawson?

    dawson is a great pick here not only because he is skilled and hungry, but also because hopkins is coming off two wars in almost half a year. He is now giong to have three big fights within a year. A taxing feat for any fighter regardless of age.

    be very aware of these important factors when you lay your hard cash on hopkins.

    with that being said, hopkins wins in any era and is arguably one fo the greatest fighters of all time.

    Wow some peeps dont learn... Dawson knocking out Hopkins cold LOL. He could not even ko hops if he had a baseball bat.
