Clearly I’ve watched both men fighting more closely than you. Dawson is a mirage – he has fast hands, decent skills but is pretty much the definition of average.

 I had to pick the last option.

Lets be cereal here. I predict a Dawson stoppage he will make Hopkins look old and slow and will not be able to get inside on Chad. I believe Chads footwork will win him this fight he will get in and out all night long.

    Chad’s footwork is appalling, dude.

What? Its what wins him a lot of his fights. Adamek couldn't get near him because of the footwork and boxed circles round HOF'ers Johnson and Tarver with it. He is never off balance or squares up so I have no idea where that has come from. Hopkins is too flat footed and doesn't have the speed to get near Dawson. Just too big for him.

If Johnson or Tarver get in the HOF I'll buy a hat and proceed to eat it.

You are entertaining, VIP. HOF’ers Johnson and Tarver? Really? They’re both nice guys but their achievements really amount to jack****. They both beat Roy Jones and each other, and that’s it.

What fights? The one where Johnson spent the whole of the first fight in his grille and many felt he was unlucky to lose. Yeah “boxed circles”! Tarver didn’t have trouble getting inside with him either, but he was so diminished at 175 that he couldn’t make it count. In fact, I recall Chad using his handspeed and outworking Tarver. So that’s bollocks too.

The Adamek fight… well, Tomaz was pretty weight-drained and even then managed to put Chad on his ass.

He never squares up? He did it constantly against Pascal and kept getting out of position. When Pascal rushed him he practically tripped over himself, which was why he couldn’t counter effectively. He showed the same thing against Diaconu. When he goes to the body in combination he always squares up. In fact, the reason Pascal was able to get in on him was that Dawson constantly ducked to one side instead of stepping out and off.

Finally, Hopkins is flat-footed? He’s no dancer, but he’s got amazing footwork. He’s always in position to punch. He doesn’t have the speed? You don’t need speed when you’re accurate with great timing. And too big? When has Dawson EVER been a physical fighter who imposes his strength and size on others?

That’s not to say Dawson doesn’t do things well, but the stuff you’ve listed is straight from fantasy island.

Hopkins will take Chad to the cleaners - wide points win.

And it doesn't make the performances any better or any worse whether they are in the HOF or not. **** knows why people use the "he beat a HOFer" line rather than let the win stand on its own merits.
