Jonhson refuse between 1 million and 1,3 millions to face Bute

In other words they offered Glen 250k, which is laughable.

Glen isn't even a dangerous opponent these days, he can't pull the trigger anymore.

Johnson's offer is ridiculous, considering everybody knows what Pavlik would have got. I know Johnson usually gets less than that but he knows Bute needs a good opponent and we all know Bute receives 2M$ from Showtime. Interbox should offer substantially more. I won't defend that offer and I hope it's not the final one.

Pavlik's offer was OK.

We may never know what was Kessler's offer. Kessler is not a liar but his promoter is and he's the one receiving the numbers. Kessler can only repeat what Sauerland tells him.

So, it's 1-1-1 in the offer scoring. 1 good, 1 bad and one we are not sure. I agree it's not a good scoring for Interbox.

After Kessler refused, I thought maybe Kessler was ducking. After Pavlik refused, I knew for a fact that Bute was ducking.

Now Johnson has refused, and I'm not surprised.

 

That's £'s not dollors. The £ was up about 2 to 1 on the $ at the time. So straight away that's 400,000 but then you add in another 1.5 to 3 hundred thousand with inflation. I understand him not being the same value as Pavlik but most of these loses have been BS and he's had several exciting fights on TV. 750,000 is fair.

 

Johnson is a ****ing idiot for turning that down considering hes over 40 and just got beaten convincingly.

 

I know it's a business, but if they offered Pavlik 1.35 mil, then Johnson should get at least 800 k-ish in terms of what he brings to the table, in my opinion (I would like to know his Super Six purses to get a gauge, salaries are crazy bizarre in boxing and something I don't keep up on that hardcore). Johnson would generate significantly less interest than Pavlik in America, but at the same time, is the actual exposure really going to be that much less fighting Johnson?

 

Lol, Johnson won't ever do that for the remaining of his career. Mark my words, the most he will ever get from now on is 500k $ and that is being generous.

Folks, something is very wrong here when Glen Johnson who will fight anyone anywhere anytime refuses a 1 mil payday. Not saying it is Bute's people but when you have 3 different fighters turning this down something stinks......

 

Johnson should get what Hopkins got in each of the Pascal fights.
