Lol at that "interview".... You didn't make him talk about anything other than what he says every time he gets some airtime.... Wasted interview mate.
ESB are over the Mundine circus - have been for a long time. Ash has left. But the man behind Ash is still around. He's just trying to fly below the radar and no longer shooting his mouth off about Mundine.
Geez, really had some solid 60 Minutes hard-hitting questions there! atsch By the way, it's against Rigoberto Alvarez for the 'Interim' WBA 154lbs title (It's on the 'Scene as well as BadLeftHook') ****ing Mandy hey, he loves them 'Interim' titles as part of his world dominance and P4P credability. Check out BadLeftHook's description of the farce - http://www.badlefthook.com/
So the WBA light middleweight / super welterweight rankings look like this: Super Champion: Miguel Cotto. Champion: Austin Trout. ...and this bout between Alvarez and Mundine is for some kind of interim trinket that falls below both of those belts. ...please tell me I have it wrong atsch.
its still a stern test for him at 154LB. As long as he eventually fights Trout i see no problem with this fight. The interim title is bullsht, are they doing that so they can sell it off as a world title fight or something? I hope he realises he has to defeat Trout if he wants to be world champ, the interim doesnt mean sht. I thought he was going to force a mandatory on Trout? whats happen to that? Badlefthook isnt a fan and clearly a hater, to say theres no legitimacy in the bout is like saying Mundine is fighting an argie taxi driver, he fought for a world title his last bout losing a UD to Trout, if Mundine can knock him out it sends a clear message.
Spot on Ty, The trinket is garbage, but **** me this is a good fight imo, nothing wrong with the match up and depending how he goes could be a good lead up!
better than the **** fights he's dished up since Geale. Anyone who thinks Mundine will win a credible World title is dreaming.
Stify fair call mate, would you agree though, much better fight then Geale's first defense? JMO, (not that I blame Geale, right behind him, gotta make bank, nothing wrong with him turning down sturm and martinez get a few defenses then go for it)!
Looks like I was off the mark with my first bet but I'll double it up and back Alvarez in this one. Tough fight for Mandy. If he had a hard time against Wood , Alvarez will give him a night to remember. Alvarez by KO wouldn't surprise.
yes it is a better fight but Geale holds a credible title and has to face mandatory's eventually. This is a joke with the WBA and having 2 or 3 champions in each division. Almost as bad as the IBO.atsch
Ignore the belt and its not a bad fight at all. What the belt does is hopefully puts the winner in line for a shot at Trout.
Here's what Badlefthook had to say: Anthony Mundine Ducks Austin Trout, Targets Bogus Interim Title by Scott Christ - Badlefthook - August 12th 2011 Anthony Mundine has apparently decided that a fight with WBA "regular" junior middleweight titlist Austin Trout was too tough, so instead he'll be facing Rigoberto Alvarez for a bogus interim title on September 7 in Australia. This is about as weak and obvious a move as Mundine has made to date, and that's saying something. The WBA currently has Miguel Cotto (in action on December 3) as their "super champion" despite the fact that Cotto holds no other recognized belt (he does hold the essentially fake WBB title), and an active Trout as their "regular champion," but for whatever reason the WBA is sanctioning an interim belt. This is typical practice that we've seen the WBA pull in the featherweight division recently, but it's still absurd. Add in the fact that Alvarez (27-3, 20 KO) hasn't fought since losing to Austin Trout in February, and it just gets even stupider. This is basically impossible to defend as anything legitimate.
