I don't blame Bute/Interbox for Kessler or Pavlik but this time he has no excusses if he doesn't sign a fight with a decent challenger.Glen Johnson si more than willing, stop waiting for the counter offer and make him a better one if he refused.Contact Kessler things with Stieglitz seems to be on hold. That fight can generate plenty of money, give it another try.He needs a good opponents and he needs it NOW.IF you have nothing at your own weight try and bring Cleverly,Cloud down to a catch-weight.Can't really think of anybody from Middleweight going up for a fight, with one exception Pirog, but then against the money has to be right. So MAKE AN EFFORT INTERBOX.

Good to see at least one Bute fan waking up to reality.

The "we were waiting for a counter offer" is just not good enough. Give an 'offer they cannot refuse' first time around instead of trying that rubbish.

I hope Interbox gets a clue soon.

Yeah real talk Respect to a Bute fan who see that Interbox is ****in over Bute by letting him marinate for the Super Six Winner.. 3 solid challengers going by the wayside.. all low balled... Interbox must be pimping Bute cause that guy fills up the Molsen Center in Montreal and the Arena in Quebec City.. and Still can't drum up a decent offer for a quality opponent.. that's Crazy.. Interbox needs to get with the program...

    Team Johnson states it is
    This content is protected
Johnson believes the Bute camp is not serious about fighting him. “I believe that they’re low-balling me very badly, mainly because they don’t want the fight to happen. So, a way to get out is to try to low-ball where they think we won’t accept it, instead of saying ‘we don’t want to fight Glen Johnson.’ I’ve been around long enough to know when somebody’s serious about an offer and I believe the fighter himself wants to compete but the promoter is afraid of stepping him up a level. They want to keep him safe. They don’t have the confidence in him they should have. He’s a good fighter. He should have a great fight and maybe he wins and maybe he loses, but he’s ready for that fight.”

so if my math skills are correct...johnson was prob offered around 250-300 grand?

Not a single Bute fan is defending the offer made to Johnson. Interbox will have no excuse if Bute fights any boxer inferior to Johnson. We know he's willing and we know his price. For 600K, it's a done deal. Bute receives 2 M$ from Showtime and 15 000 people will be at the Bell Center.

I don't agree with you about the Pavlik offer though. 1,3M$ is an ok offer. Don't forget Arum said yes to it. The mess there is not Bute's team fault.

In the Kessler case, we know, even if some stubborn posters seem not to see it, that Sauerland was negociating with the WBO before even receiving an offer. Only a monstruous offer would have convinced Sauerland not to face Stieglitz.

    for me:

    Pavlik: Fair
Kessler: Not fair.. asking Kessler to bring his own money to pay himself!?!? Bute only came with 750 k for Kessler and that is not realistic. When we know that Kessler took on Calzaghe in Cardiff, Mundine in Sydney, and Ward in Oakland.... would he be ducking Bute if the pay was there? Also, not fair considering that Kessler had and has plenty of other opportunities.
Johnson: Not fair. He needs something like 500 k.

I don't say you're lying but do you have a link for the 750k offer to Kessler ? BTW i don't believe the 3 millions offer. If the offer to Kessler is really 750k it should imply (is this a word ?) other revenues.

I think you don't understand something here. If Interbox is the promoter, he is the owner of all the Tv rights, including Denmark. It is not Kessler's money. When Interbox offers to give them the Danish TV rights, that's real money and that counts.

You girlymen reacting to every bit of news and rumours are like day traders on nicotine patches. Negotiation takes time. Give it time. Have a beer. Relax.

All we have is a close source of the negociations.

And that source also said Showtime was giving money to Kessler but I don't know why but Joe always forgets about it. I've refreshed his memory at least 4 times but he still forgets. Juvenil alzheimer maybe.

How much would have given Showtime? We don't know. 250K? 500K?

How much made Kessler from the Danish TV rights when he faced Ward could be a good comparison because it was in North America and the numbers could be the same. I don't know them though. What was his part of them?

Joe can say what he wants but there are too many questions to answer to really know what the offer was worth.

Thank's for the answer , the Kessler offer isn't clear enough to judge it!

Well, yeah. These 'other revenues' are of the sort... "and we will 'pay' you whatever you can get together yourself".

I can pay Vitaly $5 mill to meet me.... and not pay a single $ myself!! I just tell him that he can keep the German TV money... There, abra kadabra!! I have made an 'offer' of $5 mill. without any money myself.

Complete bogus calling that an offer of course because Vitaly would be the one generating that money.

I think the offer to Kessler needs to be somewhere around 3 mill + Danish TV rights (and let Kessler worry about how much that is). For Calzaghe he got $5 mill and the Scandinavian TV rights. I know this may seem like a lot of money for Bute because he is not used to fighting top fights.
