pretty sure they did one before and after the first fight with Tua, he was due to retire then and said he would defo not come back.

He never was champion but he is champion in my heart! HE had a good career! he fought everybody and gave always 100% what more can you ask for?
Massive Tua fan here mate, and no excuses from me; he was simply beaten by a better man, it happens. Congratulations to Monte Barrett, seems like one of the nice guys of boxing and a great show of heart and determination to see the final bell and get a well deserved win. :good:smoke
Just found THIS on the New Zealand TV Website lol 11:14pm Tua must win, he got the knock down he wanted late in the final round, but some how Barrett got back on his feet. The crowd are electric and they know Tua's got this in the bag.
Heck if a beatable guy like Maskaev still held a belt.. imagine Two Gunz could win a belt! Cinderella Man in the making! **** I love Monte's career. Ever since he fell into the ring vs. Haye, and I am not saying this with sarcasm. I somehow started feeling empathy for Monte. The story about his bankruptcy and eviction makes it all the stronger. God Bless Two Gunz!
Yes, you can't help but like the guy and admire his coming back so many times, and doing this well. He came in great shape and it paid off. I hope he gets another big payday or two. I recall years ago he was on the Price is Right game show. Great guy. Good for him. I predicted this one correctly. :good
