this is beyond a joke. Compared to the unintelligible dross that goes for much of the BBC radio output, the consistent quality and entertainment of the boxing hour makes for great listening. At a time when the scene is booming too, this is an horrific decision.
I'm told that there will be a decision on Monday about the shows in Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec - the two remaining August shows have gone. Bang. Adios.
Steve, this is really awful news, the show is fantastic and I realise you put a lot of effort into delivering an entertaining programme each week. Hope it works out mate as you actually communicate with the fans and fighters unlike others who just spout shite. Keep smilin Buncey
 It's ridiculous. We'll have to get a campaign going in true ESB style should worst come to worst.
I am the same mate, Thursday's are a milestone in my working week. It was a great substitute for the Boxing Hour on Setanta. Buncey could have two obscure, unknown boxers on his show and it would still **** over anything else out there.
Same with me mate!! Wonder if we can get Jeffro to have the ' save the boxing hour' on his shorts at prizefighter!! Get your wallet out Steve!!
The boxing hour is one of the best shows on the radio on any subject. Going into the Olympics, where we all expect team GB to do well, the BBC should be getting behind boxing. They should be moving the show to national radio, not talking about scrapping it. They should be publicising the hell out of the show, not relying on word of mouth. If the show can be the most popular download on the BBC website simply by word of mouth imagine what might happen if they put the link on the BBC homepage once in a while? Sort it out Auntie, dont bin a classic. :nono
This is the one radio show I look forward to listening to each weeks. Always puts me in a good mood going into the weekend. I'm really growing quite tired of boxing being shafted constantly.
WTF, the BBC is a total joke, what exactly do they have against are noble art?? another nail in the coffin.
