I was thinking of those 2 myself. But he would prosper more under Roach or Steward. Fact of matter is he will lose and then arnie will go. Just a matter of time.

Well there obviously must be cos Gavin and Bellew always struggle to make weight!!! Looking good in sparing and on the pads means sweet **** all if you can't make your weight. It's a happy medium I.e froch.

When has Bellew struggled to make weight?

If you're referring to the Clev fight, that was after he left Arnie and at a couple of days notice.

Bellew struggles every fight cos that's why his resistance is so bad. His legs look ****ing dire too! They look like a couple of pieces of loose string hanging off his shorts or summat. He shoud.be at cruiserweight.

Bellew had just been kd by ajisafe and was looking for the ko punch and was just throwing the right hand. Instead of arnie telling him to tidy his work up and get some combos off an start setting his work up, instead he said 'come on tone, do it for you kids' haha. Proper tactics there, tell froch not to bother preparing for ward, aslong as he fights for rocco he will win ;)

Bellew is just too big for the weight, how he makes it I've no idea.

David Haye made a point about Bomber a while back about making the weight.... he's a 190lb fighter IMO.

As for Frankie I'm not sure. He's only missed the weight once, for me he just needs a fight that motivates him. Must be a ballache going from competing with top amateurs to fighting average opponents in the pros.

I wouldn't criticise Arnie too much, he's had a group of novices and lazy bums like David Barnes to work with. He's as good as anyone I've seen on the pads, in time he'll get there with someone.

Another point worth noting is that he's willing to put his men in risky fights. He'd only been working with Matty Hall a couple of weeks and he went in with Konecny, who would have given Rhodes a fair argument.

A bit different to Gallagher who's reluctant to put his men in with anyone remotely threatening..... he admitted in BM that he didn't fancy Mitchell for Murray.

I do agree that Bellew should be at Cruiser, Brummy :good

But his legs looked a lot stronger against Ovill (although he never got clouted hard admittedly) and he's changed his diet so he can make the weight with less stress.

Gavin, well that's just inexcusable. Let's see his next fight and see whether he's really taking it seriously again.

My controversial statement: a peak, non weight drained Kalule outpoints the McCallum that beat him.

Whilst that last bit is accurate, Stephen Smith taking on John Simpson x2 suggests he's not completely ball-less.

Viktor Crabchinyan is borderline, possibly already, an ATG lower weight fighter.

Gallagher gets far too much **** on these boards imo and arnie too much love. You make a good point or 2 mate so I will take it onboard. But imho frankie will never do well under arnie and we will all watch and wait to see what happens.

Fair play to Joe for admitting that, at least Murray went in and Crolla was going in with Morales until that got pulled by gbp. So he isn't exactly a ****er and he did a good job with Macklin against Sturm (he won as we know but robbed officially) so I find his criticisms unfounded largely apart from him being a bore.

Gusano was a dick in that fight. He started off so well and then out of nowhere just spazzed out and started trading bombs.

I think a difference between them is that Gallagher has inherited fighters, whereas Arnie had both Frankie and Bellew (and others) from scratch.

Crolla only left because he moved from Allegedly to the Hattons, which would have obviously caused friction.

Additionally I think he's having to work more under the spotlight, with an ''Olympian'' who missed the weight and has copped criticism for years, some fair, some unfair. Any poor performance from a kid who's on a lot of money will attract attention, but people don't recall him doing a better job on Saville than anyone else has or dismantling Lomax as if he were an average journeyman.

Frankie isn't a huge puncher so will be taken the distance pretty regularly which doesn't always look good.

I said on here that Woodhouse would give him a run for his money and that happened, albeit with cards that didn't particularly reflect how the fight went.

I'm not posting this because I've met Arnie a couple of times and get on well with him, he'll have his ups and downs I'm sure but will succeed, as he's still learning.

Compare his cornerwork to some of the complete shite you regularly see in British title fights, telling the fighter to ''hit him'' and then waving the towel in his face in an attempt to cool him down.... complete bollocks.

The one thing he could do is spend time in other gyms to see how they do things, but he's had Freddie Roach in his gym and by all accounts is good mates with Billy Nelson, so hopefully it's onwards and upwards for him.
