If you get a point deducted and you were winning the round, would the judges be advised to give the round 10-9 to the you as the winner but when tallying up the scores at end of fight said boxer is deducted 1 point for penalty? So 10(-1) to 9

So did all of the ring side professionals. Why? Bodywork and harder punching. So yes, just like every other fight I score, I put my card up b4 the official judges and while I dont predict every outcome b4 a fight correctly, I can score them as accurately as anyone.

I missed the fight...was it really that bad? Does anyone think the WBA or WBC (i really don't care about belts) will order a rematch or change the decision or take any type of action at all?

A deduction is a deduction, no matter what.

The round loser gets a single point deducted in a normal round (no knockdowns) - it's 10-8.

The round winner gets a single point deducted in a normal round - it's 9-9.

It's "ten point must" before points are deducted.

So in your described scenario, that is just a 9-9 round right off the bat.

Aside from a couple of swing rounds, it was a pretty easy fight to score. The 11th round is the big x factor though. Agbeko SHOULD have won the round 10-9, but with the bull**** call it has to be either 10-9 Mares or 10-8 Mares.

even with a knockdown a judge can score the round a 10-10 if he feels that the fighter who was knockdown wasn't hurt at all maybe a flash knockdown and he completely dominated the rest of the round. You always have to give at least one fighter 10 points in a fight unless there is a PENALTY and you have to take away a point.

The fight was not even close, esp. with the knockdowns, the judge who had it a draw had an agenda. I say have a rematch, but with a referee who will allow body punches that are not below the belly button, being fair and not banning body punches that are legal.....................

Antonio Tarver summed up the evening before the fight when he said all fighters want the most important thing a "payday"

That was the motivation for Mora not racism. That was also the reason the commentators chose to pick on Mora and not GBP as picking on GBP could effect their $ and a referee is just the little man doing what he was instructed.

It's really on HBO and SHO to get more involved and control what is being aired on their network.

114-113 Mares. He got a big lead in the fight and Agbeko did much better in the 2nd half, but he didn't do enough. Even without the knockdowns Mares just outboxed and outlanded Agbeko. Agbeko had some nice clean right and jabs, but was never consistent. Good fight, despite dirty tactics by both.

You could score it 10-10 (not sure why), but 9-9 doesn't exist without a deduction.

I had the same score, but like IB said, round 11 decided everything.

    1 - 10-8 MARES
Before the KD Agbeko was matching Mares for boxing IMO, his left hook was just as good as any punch that Mares was throwing, but Mares was “bigging” his way to the round, being physical, coming forwards, being strong. Agbeko maybe should have dug his heels in. KD is ok by me, whatever.

    2- AGBEKO
Great jabs, good left hooks. Do not agree with the commentary team’s view on Agbeko’s left hand. It is a good punch. Despite winning the round Agb looks rattled and Mares looks more confident, still bigger and showing good variety - but had a bad last minute.

    3- MARES
Very close, Mares takes it off the back of the physicality, Agb looks a little planless which is really surprising. He is giving to much ground planlessly. Mares should have been talked to for his low blows, specifically between rounds here for me.

    4- AGBEKO
Mares looked good in this round, winging great punches, looks excellent Agbeko flailing a little for the first time to me but that punch…there was another one right behind it and then some snappy jabs. The great news. Mares has a good chin.

    5- MARES
Agb matching Mares physically now, right there, punching and trying to slip. Both landing decent punches on occaison. Numbers, not easy to pick out. V close round.

    6- MARES
Great round for Mares right hand he looks to have Agb very slightly overwhelmed - outmatched. Mares should have had a point deducted for low blows in this round IMO.

    7- MARES
V close round I give it to Mares a little bit neater Mares looks a little disorganised for the first time tho blowing?

    8-MARES
Nicked this one for me in the last 50 seconds with a body flurry, looks disorganised outside, Agb looking disorganised also aside from the right hand which he is starting to snipe with fight starting to limp a bit?

    9-AGBEKO
Jabs his way to the round also scores a couple of sneaky right hands. Mares looking less and less organised no real combinations or flurries in this round and he looks susceptible to Agb’s aggression, he should be fighting like this more. Can he close it out?

    10-AGBEKO
Jabs and subtley pressurises his way to the round. Nice boxing. Horrific refereeing - something wrong? Not only the low blow mares pressing down agbeko and tells agbeko to “get his head up”. Mares should have had a point removed. These other commentators are a bit spastic Antonio calling it right. Point off.

    11- Outrageous

12- A new way to rob a fighter…I’m guessing the forum is very cross? I watched it this monring, just just now and yeah, that’s pretty disgusting. I think I had Mares ahead by a point at the point where I stopped scoring it because - what’s the point?

Obviously if the ref called it right in the 11th it would be the other way around for Agbeko. Terrible ref.

PS: I hate Jim Gray with a passion, comes off as a pretentious ***** always trying to create drama, but last night I enjoyed him destroying Mora during the interview right after the fight. Mora deserved every bit of it.
