Let's give it up for Joseph "King Kong" Agbecko. Never quit, never complained to the ref about the constant low blow, and still fought on and able to make the fight close despite the incompetent referee. Halfway through the fight I was rooting for Agbecko to win or at least salvage a draw. Shame that didn't happen. Oh, and let's forget that he has BALLS OF STEEL.
Let's really hear it for agbeko for not going zab judah on mora. "cause he'd of had every right to do so.
x1000. I've always had a good amount of respect for King Kong, but the dude's standing went through the roof with how he handled tonight. I certainly wouldn't have been able to have that kind of restraint and composure, and his ability to recover and still fight as smart as he did in light of the handicap he was facing was inspiring. Every fan should give that man a round of applause for tonight. :happy:thumbsup
Massive respect to King Kong, and this is coming from one of Mares' biggest fans. Reminded me of Pacman taking about two dozen full blooded low blows from Agapito Sanchez without retailiating. Here's hoping Agbeko gets his rematch because lord knows he deserves it.
Agbeko's got a heart as big as the entire world and tonight showed it. Outside of the low blows Mares showed some pretty solid stuff throughout the first half of the fight, but heading into the championship rounds it was Mares who had the look of a beaten fighter. Agbeko was robbed of his title, but he remains unbeaten and unbowed.
Been a big fan of Agbeko for a while Just a very interesting fighter, he's not the most talented guy that I've seen but he's so awkward and fights hard and leaves it all in the ring.
I'm surprised there's not a lot of shout outs for King Kong. Give the man some respect after everything he had to endure. He had to fight 2 guys in the ring while having his balls crushed, and still managed to make the fight close.
