haye-klit may have turned out to be **** but it was one of the most anticipated fights in the last year. it was a huge event.
@Trickster (My reply to you from the other thread) We never had this 'part of our subscription'. Don't know where you got that from. Golden Boy wanted to put this on Primetime, so they offered them it, and they took it up. It was never part of our Subscription. When I bought SS, there was no guarantee I'd be getting this, because it's entirely down to who GBP want to give the fight to. How do my views tie into Amir being on PPV? Whether they put this card on Primetime, Sky, or HBO, I'd be backing this card being on PPV regardless, so really, you're talking ****. By the way, how many Primetime PPV's have you bought?
I'm not saying this was guaranteed as part of our Sky Sports subscription, I'm saying that every card involving Mayweather and Pacquiao of late has been and that this one would have been too but for a fall out between Sky and GBP. I bought Froch/Kessler but that's the only one, I have no intention of paying extra for bang average cards. I'd rather **** the sport off altogether if we're going to be expected to pay full whack for every card when there is very little by way of value. I'll pay for a genuinely competitive, meaningful fight but if you look at the Mayweather/Ortiz card a bit more closely, there's no intrigue at all.
FYI - Alvarez vs Gomez is a hot prospect versus a gimme. Gomez is a terrible defence by any standard. There is nothing compelling about it. It is Alvarez 3rd **** defence in a row.
Agree, I think one or two are seeing names and assuming it's a great card without thinking the fights through.
I don't get the anger towards Primetime, obviously free boxing is better than paying. But to say we used to get this as part of out subscription isnt logical. Sky and Primetime are different companies. Sky charge a monthly fee for all boxing/sports. Primetime are offering a fight on ppv that isnt available anywhere else. There,s no guarantee sky wouldve bought this? And from what I've heard the 24/7 shows are included, and there will also be a c5 Tyson Fury show. If the ppv is the driver to getting a free to air show on 5 it should get a big casual audience. Positive news
So your logic for buying and charging £14.95 is because they are showing 24/7 and the Tyson Fury fight that people can watch for free anyway without having to be ripped off to watch at fight at 4am? Hopefully it bombs and they realise people may be willing to pay £5 for fights at 4/5am in the morning, but not £15. And also, Sky have shown all Mayweather's recent fights, so to say they wouldnt have put this on is just daft.
Couldn't agree more. Gomez folds under pressure quickly against smaller men. The cut saved him from a beating from Soto Karass. Primetime are doing my head in with all this PPV its the main thing killing the sport over in America and there are trying to do it here.
I wont be able to get Primetime because they are not on my cable over here in Ireland so that rules me out for paying for a Money fight. **** Primetime they will **** up boxing more than help boxing lets be honest every time Primetime have a fight on PPV its £15 thats a ****ing disgrace. No wonder people are going to watch streams on line why pay the money when with the streaming getting better all the time.
**** you primetime and i hope you go bankrupt and all you ****ers lose your jobs, seriously though for years us fans in ireland, uk and europe have gotten the big fights free when neither fighter was british, now primetime have jumped on an opportunity to rip off the hardcore fans once again, boxing is struggling at the moment with too many champions too many weights and too many promoters, the sport is really getting****ed over by the likes of primetime, they are making a quick buck and putting more nails into the boxing coffin, anyone who forks out money to primetime are contributing to thedemise of boxing, anyone who supports this being PPV is not a true boxing fan or is quite simply just a khan fan
so GBP acted like a spoilt child and ditched Sky because of them refusing to show Khan on PPV. GBP can go fcuk themselves as I wont be paying for this. No sky promotion, no sky sports news coverage means this fight will bomb!
No it wont. The only people who will watch 24/7 are those who know its on which is hardcore boxing fans.
