i dont think many people will be buying it so that should be a wake up call to GBP that PPV for these kind of fights in the UK is a fail.

I agree with Eds stance on this actually; primetime is bad for boxing on the whole. Fair enough Sky have missed many a big fight which has led to this gap in the market; but ultimately the highest bidders are going to always get the show... If primetime succeed then high class international boxing will now completely dissapear off our screens.,

The Mayweather Ortiz 24/7 will be on C5 According to twitter reports this morning.
I've said this before but I don't get the hate for Primetime. Sure they are ppv but they have to generate income, they couldn't charge a monthly subscription as they don't have enough content yet.
But if you look at the whole package and not just the bits you don't like, this whole deal means we now see 24/7 for free and on C5 as well. And we're getting live boxing on free to air terrestrial tv as well.
14.99 per fight might seem expensive but as an overall packasge it doesn's seem so bad?

No 24/7 is not on C5. An hour long 'best of 24/7' is on C5.

Dress it up as much as u want but I am not buying PPV fights that we would usually see on Sky Sports.

You mean they're going to show Floyd throwing money around and Ortiz reciting his childhood troubles for the 100th time? Well take my £17.50 now.

I remember the same type of comments when boxing went to Sky from terrestrial TV.

It's not Primetimes fault that they are outbidding Sky. Instead of being negative on them, maybe you need ask why is a company as massive as Sky is losing out to a small company like Primetime? Dare I say Sky might be at fault here!

Or maybe Sky are willing to pay what they feel Mayweather V Ortiz market value is worth over here. Who knows.

We dont know the figures involved.

Why the hell not? Haye picked Harrison as an opponent lol. As soon as that fight was signed I lost all respect for him.

No, Sky almost forced him into that fight. When it was first mentioned, Haye and Adam Booth rightly laughed at it. Sky then managed to convince the rest of the media and general public that Audley Harrison would make an entertaining fight.

I don't see how you can't blame David Haye. Unless you think you'd turn down a few million quid for an easy nights work..

How good is it that you are paying every month for SkySports and they don't get the fights you want?

Primetime probably got the money to bid on it from the Khan fights. A gift from Sky!

Because I dont pay every month for boxing. Even if Sky said they were not showing boxing anymore I would still get value for money on the football alone.

Considering primetime never released the numbers for the Judah fight you have to wonder how well that did?

They were quick to tell the world how well the McCloskey fight did but nothing after Judah.
