Everytime some ******* comes with that same tired line "everytime someone stood up to Tyson or fought back he lost" I alwasy think of this fight and think of how dumb that is. Post prison yeah maybe but before he went to jail Tyson alwasy fought his heart out even against Douglas. And in this fight and same as everyone post Rooney wasnt a prime Tyson. The head movement wasnt there the jab wasnt there the combos werent there and he was still a beast.

    Proves several things:

    Tyson had heart
    Tyson had damn good chin
Tyson was a good body puncher

    Lewis hits harder than Tyson

Purrity was 24-13-1. But thats still far, far better than Jaco's 24-25-1.

Have you even watched the Jaco fight you boxrec spastic? :nut

Ruddock was avery green in '85 & not even close to being fully developed physically, as he was a skinny 203lbs. Donovan was totally dominating every round, then started to get gassed, Jaco did some pitty-pat slaps & the ref did a bull**** premature stoppage. Razor would've easily made it to the final bell unhurt, & won a wide decision, if it wasn't for the terrible incompetent ref. Then Ruddock took a year out to have his lung condition surgically treated to improve his stamina; this was explained in the commentary for Ruddock-Bonecrusher in '89.

I've seen a lotta hate for Boxrec on here. Is it because "FACTS" get in the way of your fantasy world?

You're the one who lives in a "fantasy world" & relies on boxrec instead of actually watching fights.

Boxrec is a good tool, but the real fact is, watching a fight can tell you a lot more than simply looking up the official result.

    amazing fight.

However i'd rather take an uppercut to the nuts from one of Saturdays Bantomweights than from Mike Tyson.

    That was horrendous.

I youtubed the postfight interview. They show massive respect for each other after the fight.

Boxrec stripps away the hype, you get facts, not hype! There's no commentator telling you what your watching.

That's why I rewatch many fights with the sound off. Commentators should only tell fans about the fighters, their history, record, ect, things like that. But they dont, they try to mislead the fans. You buy "Hype", I dont....

    I watched Ruddock-Jaco without sound...

My point was you didn't even watch the fight, to see it was a bull**** premature stoppage.

But if you don't watch the fights, you don't learn about all the robberies & premature stoppages in history.

Same here, commentators are often annoying & biased, so watching on mute is a good idea.

Yea, I remember some clown commentator saying a jab from Tommy Morrison was the same as a Mike Tyson body punch!:patsch
