Castillo clearly won 8-12. I personally give him 7, and a few others.
The scorecards were what? 15-11 and 16-11?

    Bob Arum, take a bow.

I'll never understand how Floyd is so revered by true boxing fans.

I had the fight a draw. Neither fighter truley stamped his authority as the clear winner - I can see Mayweather slightly winning, but a swing in favour of Castillo would have been a bigger injustice.

Yes, Castillo was agressive, but you're also mean't to factor in defense, ring generalship and damage done by the blows. Mayweather clearly had the superior defense, and even though Castillo had the greater agression it was less efficient than when Mayweather was agressive. Ring generalship was pretty much back and forth and damage by blows appeared to be even.

Anyway, they rematched immediately and Mayweather comfortably won the second fight so there is no doubt Mayweather is better than Castillo.

I think 2002 is getting sick and tired of us. Let's move into 2003 - I think N'dou would have KO Mayweather if he didn't gas. Discuss.

I had 2 for JLC. Compubox stats showed he was landing more. So unless castillo dominated 2 or 3 rounds where did all his punches landed go. All rounds were close rounds and his punches landed were evenly spread across rounds. So if jlc had 50 punches more landed then floyd, mathmatically JLC should have one or two more rounds then floyd.

id love to see that score card cause unless my memory is serves me wrong, castillo was deducted a point in rnd 8 so the best it could have been was even. which im sure how u scores it yet probably a 10-8 for castillo when may was deducted a point just out of spite.

the point it people are so closedinded about this fight an so quick to call it robbery that everytime they score it they already kno the out kome. I had the first 6, 4-2, 5-1, 4-2 all for money. the last six 4-2, 3-3, 4-1-1 all jc. the last three times scored with no sound. so the first tim even, second 115-111 for may. 114-113 jlc. so the main point to breakin this down is its more likely a draw because judges dnt see stats. each round is scored individually and built an early lead on jabs alone. it was a close fight that either man kould have won. this is no alexander-mathysse or lara-williams, slappy-hopkins. its a close very competative fight that went in favour of the more marketable fighter when it COULD have been given to the other man. give credit for not runnin on "to bigger and better things" and beaten him in a clear but close fight the second time around.

oh an lol@ people using this fightto judge qeather pac wins. 130-135 floyd spanks pac alll night long.

I had Floyd for this one, where he was robbed of a knockdown in the 1st I think and fought sharply on the inside and on the ropes when Castillo did not land cleanly but threw a lot.

By the way, I think the second fight was much closer and MAYBE a draw but I still have Floyd up by one or two every time- FLoyd ran more, but I'm the only guy on earth who scores that one closer except the official judges. I favor Castillo in the second one because of Floyd's unwillingness to engage.

    Wrong.

On paper saying fighter A lands 20 of 30 and fighter B lands 15 of 35 it's easy to assume that fighter A should have won the round.

Without context that conclusion is understandable although naive.

You judge a fight on clean effective punches, defence, effective aggression and ring generalship.

A guy infront of a computer can think a punch edging past a guard is as valid as a square punch in the face, but I don't.

First time I watched this I had Castillo quite wide. This time looked different as I'm watching with no sound on. That round 7 is a close one.

One point. A draw would be fair.
