So, you're trying to convince a friend to become a fan of the sport; What 10 fights do you show them to convince them?

For me personally Gatti vs Ward Corrales vs Castillo Morales vs Mab Morales vs Pac 1 Cotto vs Mosley - Some might consider this a weird choice..... but to me, this fight was fought at a very high level, and isnt so much the toe to toe battle the other choices are. I like the skills employed by Cotto in this fight. Margarito vs Cotto - I would show this because besides the fact its a classic (imo), it also would show the new fan how grit, strength, durability (and I guess overwelming size helps too) can wear down someone who is a lot more skilled.... and its a come from behind victory in a way, want to have one of those in there. Trinidad vs Vargas Hagler vs Hearns Vasquez vs Marquez 2 or 3 Chavez vs Taylor
Ortiz vs. Berto Pacquiao vs. Cotto Williams vs. Martinez 1/2 Rios vs. Antillon Pacquiao vs. Margarito Maidana vs. Khan Mosley vs. Margarito Marquez vs. Diaz 1 Hopkins vs. Pascal 1/2 Donaire vs. Montiel I would show him only new **** like above, considering they don't make fighters like they used to and it wouldn't be fair.
Ali-Frazer 1: The fight of the century. It deserved the title, no doubt. Two unbeaten Champions facing each other in a fight that defined two of the greatest Heavyweights of all time. Hearns-Hagler: Fantastic all-action fights are hard to come by, but this was awesome even by high standards. You knew someone was getting knocked out, and when it came in the 3rd round everyone said they saw 30 rounds of action in that fight. Hearns-Leonard: Theres just something great about the whole "your blowing it kid! your blowing it!!!" part of this fight where HEarns had been dominateing, just to watch Sugar realise he was indeed blowing it and picking it up and stopping the hitman. Hopkins-Trinidad: Very rarely do you see a fight where smart boxing just dominates and makes it looks fun. the KO was the iceing on the cake, but it wasn't nessisary. Ward-Gatti 1: When you have the guys from HBO getting Actualy excited and not just faking it, you have something special. HEaring "Ward's waving him on, saying come on.....Come On!....COME ON LETS FIGHT!" gets me stoked. Round 9 was...insane. Corrales-Castillo 1: Great fight and the 10th round may have been the biggest comeback within a single round ever. AWESOME! Freitas-La Hiena: This was 12 rounds of insanity. Blood, Knockdowns, Dirty work, Heart, and a fantastic knockout finish. Vargas-Trinidad: This fight convinced me to actualy take the sport up. Watching Vargas's heart just unload through that fight, the visual of him coming on strong, and the lowblows that eventualy beat him(Still a sore subject). THAT was what a warrior did. PERFECT! Barrera-Morales 1: Back and forth like I can't remember seeing before or after. It was NEVER clear who was winning this fight and you knew they hated each other. F-ing amaysing. Ward-Sanchez: Loved to hear the HBO team eating their words. Great display that boxing is different than other sports. There is no "well not enough time left in the game for the other guys to make a come back." Don't think the fight's over till it's OVER!
Thanks for all your replies. I'm going to try and get a copy of these fights. Some excellent replies.
I'll come back later and produce a list. But me personally, my list probably won't consist of all action/war bouts....bouts that are considered some of the greatest of all time. You would be showing your friend these action bouts, and when it comes to them watching a more technichal bout, more of a chess match...what's to say they won't lose interest?
