****! If that is true it's very harsh! Its a bit ambiguous tho. You'd wonder why he didn't wait til after training to get it fixed :huh What about michael o reilly? Is it just because he entered the senior boxoffs instead of having his own junior boxoff?
What I heard was APPARENTLY O'Reilly went for a spin in his car with Walsh and at some stage during that spin he let Walsh drive his car and he crashed it APPARENTLY . Seems a bit harsh on O'Reilly but he has already proved himself at European level imo in the way he hammered the top German , Ukranian and Russian youths at the Bradenburg cup . Joyce has a good chance of winning the tournament imo he is a very good boxer and younger brother of DOJ . I'm looking forward to these Europeans I hope to get over a few of the days and I was really hoping to see O'Reilly box he is a class act and has a very relaxed style and his punches come from all over the place, he is a real top talent for the future .
conny had to go 91+ , he was kilt at the weight, he didnt think he could get his maximum performance at 91kg day after day in international competetions! no way was he moving up away from any1 did ya not see the 91s at the weekend , he would a won em easy enough! dont think many would argue! the iaba have ****ed up everything but i think it could actually end up benefiting con he can box at a weight hes happier at now
Indeed I did ! Yes, along with Bernard Dunne, they bought won the titles on the same night. Indeed, I don't know how I could have forgotten the GBO with such important recent news from them as this: This content is protected
The IBO has some pretty decent champions to be fair. It's lucky there are only 26 letters in the alphabet. There is some raked load of titles.
Andy Lee vows revenge over Bryan Vera on October 1 This content is protected Newly crowned NABA and NABF Middleweight Champion, Andy Lee (26-1, 19KOs) is confident of beating Brian Vera (19-5, 12KOs) in their rematch on October 1st at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Vera is the only boxer to have defeated the Kronk fighter in his 5 year professional career. Vera from Austin, Texas holds an extremely controversial 7th round stoppage win over Lee that occurred over 3 years ago on March 21, 2008. Lee was ahead on all three judges scorecards and many boxing fans thought the fight was stopped prematurely when the referee, Tony Chiarantano intervened to stop the fight as Lee was throwing a punch. Lee was never knocked down or given a standing 8 count and was never in trouble throughout the fight. Lou DiBella, who now promotes both fighters, has put together this intriguing match to feature live on HBO as chief supporting bout to pound for pound kingpin, Sergio Martinezs (47-2-2, 26KOs) WBC Middleweight title defence against Englishman, Darren Barker (23-0, 14KOs). Lee believes he has been handed a golden opportunity to set the record straight and take care of unfinished business from his first encounter with Vera. The Irishman commented from the ring apron at the Detroit Kronk Gym It would mean a lot to me to avenge my only loss and beat Brian Vera and show the fans who really is the better fighter between us. I am relishing the opportunity to get my revenge and redemption October 1st which cannot come soon enough. "I was a 23 year old kid back in 2008, I have matured since then and I am a stronger fighter now, both physically and mentally. There is no room for complacency in this game, I have all the tools to take care of Brian Vera and I will be well prepared for the fight. I am confident of beating him and putting on a show for the fans." The Kronk fighter has had 11 straight wins since his only loss on his comeback trail and has positioned himself as a legitimate world title contender in the first quarter of 2012 for one of the major belts. He is presently ranked # 2 in the WBA and WBO and # 6 in the WBC ratings. Lee is recognized as one of the strongest and effective punchers in the Middleweight Division with 19 of his opponents not seeing the final round. He can bang with either hand as formerly unbeaten world ranked Scotchman Craig McEwan found out in March this year in an epic battle dubbed the Celtic War. Lee caught McEwan with a devastating overhand left in the 10th round sending his opponent crashing to the canvas. Referee Steve Stogger, concerned about the health and well being of McEwan, stopped the fight immediately without a count. Newly crowned Middleweight NABF and NABA Champion, Lees punching power will give Vera, the smaller man, some food for thought and he will recall Lee dropping him in the 1st round of their fight in 2008 causing the referee to give Vera a standing 8 count. World renowned boxing icon, Emanuel Steward knows a thing or two about boxing with a wealth of knowledge from over 40 years experience in the game and training more World Champions than any other trainer in the history of boxing. Steward commented Andy is a tall rangy fighter with superior technical skills than Vera and he carries power in both hands, where as Vera is a pressure fighter who likes to fight on the inside and slug it out with opponents. We have a strategy and game plan to win the fight and I am very confident Andy will take Brian Vera to school come fight night. Lee is a hungry fighter with the heart of a true champion, who strives in competitive and high risk fights. He is one step away from a world title shot and this is a must win fight for both fighters. His desire for the rematch shows the depth of the character of the Irishman: It was a long time coming but he is determined to set the record straight and register an exciting and action packed win over Brian Vera. Lees final comment I am elated the fight has finally been made. The stage has been set for October 1st in Atlantic City and Im not looking beyond this fight. I am totally focussed on the job and preparation is the key to success, it is time for me to go to work and do what I do best.
:scaredas: McCloskey thinks hell out-box Prescott on September 10th August 16th, 2011 This content is protected By Scott Gilfoid: Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12 KOs) is under the impression that hes going to outbox Breidis Prescott (24-2, 19 KOs) on September 10th and make him look bad in their WBA light welterweight title eliminator bout. Poor, poor McCloskey, I almost feel sorry for the deluded guy. He so badly wants to win this fight and get a second chance at fighting Amir Khan. He already royally blew it when he did get the chance by just running around like he was playing dodge ball. It was sad to see McCloskey only trying not to get hit and not doing a thing on offense. In a word it was pitiful. McCloskey is now using the same misguided game plan for his fight against Prescott on September 10th. When will he ever learn. In boxing you have to be versatile. Theres the yin and yang, and that business. You cant just be trying not to get hit and think youre going to beat guys. You have to have some offensive talent, and unfortunately I hate to say it, McCloskey has none. Defensively, McCloskey is an A+ fighter, but offensively, hes C- all the way. I think hes incredibly poor on offensive and thats not going to get you a win over a guy like Prescott. With no resistance to worry about, Prescott is going to slick right throw McCloskeys defense like its a tab of soft butter thats been sitting out of the refrigerator all day long. Its going to easy as pie to close the distance and knock McCloskey cold. Like I said before, I just hope Prescott doesnt brained from someone throwing a bottle from the crowd. Id hate to see Prescott win the fight by knockout and then get knocked out himself from something thrown from an angry crowd at ringside. To hear McCloskey say it, he thinks that Prescott will he exhausted by the 6th round. I suppose thats when McCloskey will start throwing his feather-duster punches. Oh this is going to be too funny. I cant wait until McCloskey attempts to throw one of his weak and painfully slow punches and gets immediately clocked by Prescott. I guess thats when the debris may start flying. God, I hope not.
If you think that is bad, irishboxers.ie actually copy and pasted a "Scott Gilfoid article" the other day on their site. http://www.irishboxers.ie/prescott-vs-mccloskey-paul-has-too-little-power-to-win/ The mind ****in boggles! atsch :tired

I'm delighted you've clarified this. I definitely think con is better off at 91+. He has unbelievable talent but the reason he underperformed a few times at big championships is probably cos the weigh-ins every morning of each fight were a bit too much for him! In all fairness, look what he did to the 2 lads at the weekend! Hammered both on points. I know neither mcmonigle nor turner seem to stand out in terms of their international caps, but you'd forget that turner only lost on countback to the chinese champion (olympic silver medallist 2008 ). If con can beat him so convinvingly then he is obviously flying. You said last week that con weighed in around 97kgs. Give him another few months and with all the weights he will probably be doing (and not watching his weight to get under 91) he could end up about 105kg come next summer for the olympics (provided he qualifies; which i think he will). He will be way stronger and will have more experience at the weight too (after different tournaments at 91+). I'm actually excited by his move up! I know i myself questioned egans chin for 91kg last week but he still beat mccarthy (who recently beat the 2 time 91kg world bronze medallist in a multinational tournament). The way i see it now is that egan replaces sheehan at 91kg and will probably do as well as him (if not better), considering connie's weight problems when he fought at heavy, i.e. he couldnt reach his full potential. And at 91+ we have an excellent con sheehan who should do WAY better than mcmonigle in any internationals!:happy
