Thanks. Yeah, I personally don't think Donaire would stop him (Based on Canizales/Jones) but I haven't seen much of Orlando, and was just asking you guys in case you'd seen more of Canizales (which you evidently have). Canizales is one of those fighters, I feel, who just has a granite chin. I mean, some of the shots he took from Junior Jones in R4 of their fight were just shocking, and he just ate them, without blinking. It was the way he took the shots which stood out to me, like in Marquez v Katsidis, Michael eats some hellacious bombs in the first 3 without getting hurt/wobbled, but the way he takes the punches, suggests that his chin has a limit IMO, whereas Canizales looks like he could take them all night and tomorrow morning, if you know what I'm saying.

Orlando's punching form is fantastic. Very clean and nice to watch.

Yep, Wilfredo Gomez was a beast. Lot's of guys would just simply get really hurt if they were in the ring with him H2H.

    :good

Weight drained above his usual weight? Both failed to make the weight IIRC.

And no, he was a fluid and rounded beast. But the heat going into that fight was big. And Zarate was done after the first beautiful shot Gomez landed. The pummeling that followed was just the icing on the cake. Zarate has never come back from anything before. The biggest adversity I've seen him go through pre-Gomez was his title winning effort against quality southpaw Rodolfo Martinez, a big Bantam with experience. Zarate was stiffened by a cross in the mid-rounds that remains the only time I've seen him hurt pre-Gomez (including the Zamora fight) and had to rally to batter the champion out of the ring in the 11th IIRC. But Gomez just took the game away from him, and after outfoxing him, beat him up.

No worse than Benn-Barkley IMO. The first few rounds made one thing clear: Zarate was never going to catch up to Gomez. The finish made another thing clear: Zarate was never going to be able to do anything to Gomez.

Great performance, the ferocity Gomez springs into remains a sight to behold.

Don't cry LP, Mexico got their revenge ;-) :deal

Next up: Donaire Vs Prime Duran at Lightweight :bbb

yep, Zarate always strikes me as a massive Bantamweight, think he moved straight back down after the fight. they both failed at first attempt, think Zarate 2 or 3 times

I know Gomez was a notorious party animal. I'm not certain about Zarate :good

Zarate was a big Bantam for the time, today he'd make the weight with ease, Hell, hee might even make super-fly with a day to spare ;-) But I think he was 5'8. Formidable.

He remains arguably the hardest puncher in the divisions history (though Jofre, Olivares, Borkorsor and, ahem, Nonito might have something to say about that)

If Sal' had done as expected and jumped up 'two' (well, one really) weightclasses to fight Alexis at 135, I would imagine that the expression on his face might finally have changed ;-)

A legendary fight: I've seen a fight with Sal' where he weighs 129 and looks exactly the same (admittedly against a journeyman) so Sanchez Vs either Floyd/Alexis @ 130 is endlessly intriguing.

Gamboa V's Naz. This would be like the Kevin Kelly fight only more spectacular, or Naz would just switch Yuri's lights out in the first. Either way it would be amazing.
