Good fight. It's a much needed step up fight for Bute...it makes more sense to fight a tough vet like Johnson before moving on the the biggest fights instead of jumping straight to them from Mendy.

call it like i see it...if you think johnson is a good opponent who is 0-3 in his last 3 title fights in 2 years...then you are a dumbass...predator is *** who talks about guys being frauds and glass jaws....never called bute a fraud or glass jaw...the know nothings spew that.
i bust balls on guys that everyone puts up as the elite of the elite but never beats anyone that is even in his "peer group"
nothing wrong with anyone fighting johnson...not when you at least reach a certain level, should try not fight a guy who never wins the big one and is 43 year olds... im sure all the bute fans will be going ape **** when bute hands glenn johnson loss # 16.....yay :happy YAWNN

    for the edit....

gets lost in the shuffle that i really just want to see the best fighters fight the best fights "once in a while" . dont you want to see the best raise his game> i dont get you guys being happy about this

So you basically want Bute to fight Kessler who refused him , Dirrell who came after a, don't know ... 14-16 months lay off and will not accept such a fight without a tune up. Froch or Ward who were for 2 years in a tournament and still are ?

like i said...not bute fault for pav bailing out nor his fault for kessler being a *****...but why fight a guy that brings nothing to the table other than his personal pay day? after the fight is over

    1) he will have beat a 42 year old man
    2) he will have handed him his 4th straight world title fight in 2 years
    3) he will be fighting a loser from the super 6
    4) he is fighting his old sparring partner

whats the upside for Bute? what does he win?

Ward refused to allow Bute to fight in his own personal tournament. Ward does not have to travel thousands of miles to his opponent's country like everyone else................

It is not a superfight. Noone is saying that it is. But it is a fight that Bute will not and should not be ridiculed for taking. Given the circumstances, it is a good fight. The next fight may be Bute-Ward.

Credit to Bute. A very though fight. I.l think Bute should start to put in some serious condition training - this has Andrade I all over it...........:bbb

not a super fight ...just a waste of fight

too bad everyone always over looks every current fight he has and points out to what his next fight "may be"...
ok, someone remind me when this happens...i am anxious to have a fight party and and see Bute hand Johnson that much eluded and rare 16th LOSS

Bute will never gas again. He never gassed before and never did after Andrade 1. People may think that the disease story is an excuse but all Bute's career proves he has an excellent stamina. Johnson is the one susceptible to gas, because of his age and because he did against Froch. If the fight goes to the latter rounds, Bute will have by far more energy.

i like Johnson but this fight won't be close. Bute is good when he knows his opponents. That's why he studies him at the beginning of the fight. He doesn't have to study anything since he sparred against johnson. Bute will avoid Johnson's punches and counterpunch at will. From the 5th, maybe even before, the fight will be completely on Bute's side. Johnson has the perfect style to make Bute look good. His corner or the ref will stop the fight, if a bodyshot does not.

Interbox had time to make another offer to Sauerland and to close the deal sith Johnson. This one was waiting for the offer. He knew he was the back up since several months.

    I agree. :thumbsup

    Johnson is no joke.

Loads of experience, tough as nails, great shape, fearless, good technique and good physical skills.

Also, his determination is unbreakable. The guy just doesn't give up.

That's a tough fight for anyone.
