2 unproven former champs going at each other both who looks like have been on roids in one point in their career. Overeem should be able to get this
Poor poor Brock Carwin then Velasquez then Overeem? plus a life threatening illness sandwiched in between? ****in brutal
So you got a guy who's scared of being punched against a guy who's afraid to punch incase he's taken down Cant ****ing wait......
I'm inclined to pick Overeem because Lesnar has one of the most disgraceful Chins I've ever seen in a combat sport but it's not that simple for several reasons. Overeem has **** takedown defense and Lesnar can more than likely plant him. Secondly, Overeem himself has a Fragile Glass Mandible and if Lesnar gives him some of those one inch punches on the mat he'll probably crack it. As of right now I'm simply picking shattered glass.
Reem will beat him up. Big Nog or Schaub should get a title shot if the winner of this fight doesn't. Carwin lost 2 in a row, let him fight Kongo or Mitrione.
Because Overeem's takedown defense sucks and he has a Glass Jaw, as well. If Lesnar can power him to the mat then Overeem won't stand up to his punches any better than China Chinned Mir did. If he can't then Lesnar will be breakdancing across the Octagon again. There's more glass involved in this tilt than was in the construction of the Empire State Building so a KO either way is plausible.
Overeem has improved a lot on his take down defence, and before lesnar gets a chance he will be getting a knee to the face. The fact that Lesnar will be coming from a serious illness and lay off makes this all the more ridicules of a fight.
And what proof do you have that his takedown defense has improved? Stuffing Werdum's shots? Werdum is the best takedown artist he's faced since his HW reinvention and if he was that off-balance and worried about a takedown from a guy with that low a level of wrestling ability, Lesnar could indeed take him down. I favor Overeem simply because of how ****ing abysmal Lesnar's Chin is but don't get it twisted. The guy still can't wrestle, the thought of being taken down and faceraped like he has been before makes him even more timid to let go of his own offense, and Lesnar is a good wrestler despite struggling with Carwin and Velasquez in that department.
