Its a valid comparison as Hamed had a better defence then Benitez and a better offence than Tyson in his prime. They neglected their training and there skills diminished. The same happened with Naz.

I personally liked Buddy as a fighter,but Buddy McGirt is generally considered a useless trainer these days(and for a good while),so I wouldn't take heart in his opinions.Foreman said Hamed was for real after commentating on his victory over Kevin Kelley,whom had been stopped once and drawn twice with in the 2 1/2 years leading up to the hamed fight.Ali probably was just being effusive in his praise,and I hate to say it because I'm a massive fan,he has suffered from Parkinson's Syndrome for a long while.And you're comparing Hamed to Ali because those 2 fellows made some kind of half assed comparison?Or maybe Ali was just referring to the showmanship part of Hamed.Having written that,if you could come up with a link of Ali making that statement,I'd love to see it because I could always use a big laugh:good.That being said,just because those 3 said what they said,I personally wouldn't take it to heart,even though you obviously have.And judging from your comments and threads,your knowledge isn't very impressive so there would be no reason to question it.However,your comments are comedy gold and you have given me many laughs.I'd like to thank you for that:good

I think the best thing for him to do, as a fighter, a man and for his legacy would have been to:

1. Go home, get some rest, regroup.
2. 3 progressively harder tune up/confidence building fights.
3. Brittish championship/Lonsdale belt.
4. 3 defenses of British Championship/win Lonsdale outright.
5. 2 tune ups
6. Commonwealth Championship
7. 2 tune ups
8. Euro Championship
9. Negotiations for world title, as he would certainly be ranked and ready by then
10. World Title Fight
11. Optional rematch with Barrera.


Would have been great to repair his confidence and use his loss as a way to improve while still drawing big home town crowds and making tons of money.

Much better option than giving up and getting fat.
