The fight was close and very tough to score... I had 7 round to 5 for Floyd (the first 5 and the last 2) but I can understand 6-6 or 7-5 to Castillo

What does it matter? Floyd came back in the very next fight and avenged his "loss" anyway. The last time I watched and scored the fight, IF I was being extremely generous and gave every questionable round to Mayweather, I still had it a draw. If I gave the questionable rounds to Castillo, then obviously I had Castillo winning.

If Floyd didn't come back and fight him in a rematch, I think there would be a lot more substance to this whole "Castillo beat Floyd" drama. However, Floyd DID give him a rematch and the outcome was pretty clear cut in favor of Floyd. Lennox Lewis lost to Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall of all people before beating them both in rematches...so why aren't people creating "Lewis got smoked by McCall" threads or "Lewis was floored by Rahman" threads? If it would help you sleep better at night, just tack a "1" onto Floyd's loss column and move on, man. I've seen this thread a million times now - same crap, different day.

Even if Floyd had officially lost to Castillo in the first fight, the rematch went to Floyd and the first fight didn't do anything to make me view Floyd as any less of a gifted fighter. That's like choosing to remember Michael Jordan for the few game-winning shots that he missed rather than the multitude of game-winners that he made. Floyd has done more than enough in his boxing career to make up for that first performance against Castillo - all it showed was that even a great athlete can have a bad night (which isn't a mind-blowing concept).

And by the way, Pacquiao is a terrific fighter as well. I know...that's hard to comprehend...it's possible to like BOTH Floyd and Pacquiao and not be a fanboy of either by creating threads like this one and the "Pacquiao has been KTFO'd twice" type threads that keep cropping up everywhere. Let them fight in the ring instead of having editorial fights between the two on a message board that neither of them will ever read. If this thread had a "draw" option or a "Floyd won the fight" option, I would view it as a legitimate thread rather than a biased one - instead, this instantly becomes just another Floyd bashing thread in my mind rather than a legitimate discussion of a boxing match.

of course FLoyd is a great fighter and there's no shame going 1-1 with Castillo. It just illustrates the point that Floyd although a great fighter is pretty damn far from unbeatable and that there are several fighters around those weights who should be favored to tear him a new *******.

    No.

Theoretically, if a guy A outlanded an opponent by 15 shots in 5 rounds, but guy B outlanded guy A by 10 shots on 7 of the rounds.

That means guy A landed more punches overall, but guy B won more rounds making him the victor(assuming there's no knockdowns).

Thats before even going into quality of shots.

Quite a bit of his shots were blocked or were low.

Plus judges score rounds not fights.
