Mayweather is so small and light its obscene. He rarely goes above 150. Floyd at 147 on fight night weighs less than multiple fighters who fight at 135 or 140 on fight night. When you think about Corrales, Castillo, Cotto, Pac etc they all used to love a hard cut.

I wonder if Morales had to do anything drastic to make weight - 1 pound under at a 30 day weigh in!

pretty sure Morales has always been that way. its not 13lbs of muscle he needs to cut.

I think there should be a fight day weigh in too, setting maximum %'s of weight that can be gained overnight.

Cutting weight gradually over a period of several weeks is all well and good, but adding a stone in the next day isn't healthy I'm sure.

Doesn't the IBF have one? I think they have a morning of weigh in; 10 pounds is the max you can be over the weight limit.

Of course, you can still gain weight post the day of weigh in; I think Bute is one that takes advantage of this. Have seen reports of him just under on both weigh ins - he in the ring weight must be massive.

the IBF do that, it was the main reason why Gamboa never won the IBF title.

Thats correct. IIRC the same day weigh ins were brought in due to the fact that Gatti came in so heavy when he fought Joey Gamache and then went on to beat him to a pulp within a couple of rounds, putting him in hospital and ending his career.
