marquez and his camp admitted that he was 148 on fight night. i would try to look for the source since i last saw it 2 years ago. pacquiao fought margarito and was only 148 come fight night. floyd weighed 150 against oscar and you think he did not gained any weight after?

Mayweather admitted that he only weighed 149 vs Oscar and 147 vs Mosley, do you not believe him?
And he has shown in the past that he doesn't gain much weight

And a little muscle on a frame with broad shoulders and narrow hips is completely deceptive - how well I know that. I was talking to Floyd one time right before the Gatti fight and I kept thinking, he doesn't look any bigger than me, and then he asked me, "how much you weigh?" I told him 128 and he said, "you a mighty big 128".

But in my head I kept thinking, he's a mighty small 140+ guy, he doesn't walk around looking big like I imagine Juan Urango does or Baldomir does. In real life Zab Judah's legs look like tooth picks, he has very little substance to his frame, too. Floyd's probably the slightest person in most rooms, and probably only looks big with his shirt off or in really tight clothes because of his athletic outline.

When you see him in person there is something super slight about his skeleton, though he looks fit. I think Mosley just looks smaller at 147 than he used to because of age, ie - less muscle and less ability to fluctuate and be healthy as he got older, even though he weighs the same, he just looks less "pumped" in the Floyd and Pac fights, I bet he walks around a little bit bulkier than Floyd when his muscles kind of reabsorb the nutrients.

I think for the Marquez fight he just didn't feel like losing any weight. Why bother?

    +1

    Agree.

Thanks, no way he has looked 160 in any fight.

I saw he weighed 148 on fightnight for DLH bout, but I don't think that he was 147 for Mosley.

After a long workout I'm usually 5-8lbs lighter because of sweating off fluids, if this was after a workout it wouldn't be what Floyd weighs in the ring, probably closer to 152-155 now, not 160 though. Everyone who sees Floyd says how small he is, he looks to have got bigger but he still isn't a huge WW

Makes sense however if he doesnt maintain he will have to work extremly hard that last week leading up to the weigh in, the last thing you want him to do is sit back and focus just on the game plan.
or Maybe Floyd is over training, wanting to make a statement in this fight and looking to re invent himself perhaps... if thats the case he may end up draining himself.

And he was killing himself to make 140. Ortiz is a huge ww anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves. He muscled Berto around in their fight and Berto Is a big strong ww.

Thanks for the info, I usually don't look at the post-fight pressers, and when the fight is that one sided to me there's nothing to watch. :good

Floyd and I were really close to the same size from what I could tell, so I'll post them.

I actually do keep track of this stuff, then and now. I am a bit fatter now at 137 and 33 years old but I have my old and new measurements, always been fanatical about that stuff. If Floyd was bigger at all it was in the width of his lower back. I'd imagine my arms were a just a little bigger than his then and his thighs might have had more girth than mine.

    5'8''
    Chest: 38, exp 40
waist: 26 (28 now, that's where I gained the weight )
arms flexed: 15.25 (maybe 15 then)
    Forearms: 12
    thighs: 17.5 (19 now)
    calves: 16.5

Frame wise he looks slender in person.
