Floyd has played the game perfectly with these drug test request. He has set a precedent that morally (take it or leave it) he cannot change now. Mosley took the test, Ortiz is taking the test, and guarantee that any opponent Floyd fights from now until his "official" retirement is going to be required (negotiation) to take the test. I personally would lose a lot of respect for Floyd if the testing demands are ever retracted in the future. What do you guys think?

Mayweather is definitely at the point of no return. No way can he back down now.

he cannot stop this or he will be called on singling pacquiao out. he should of not tried to cover it by saying he is out to clean the sport which we all know is too transparent.

One thing for sure he will make sure everybody he fights will be clean.
As for the others and the sporrt itself - you can bring a horse to water but you can't force him to drink

Soon as he gets his @$$ kicked by an opponent that was tested, he will still claim the fighter was on something. Guaranteed.

Floyd's in it too deep now to give up on his own drug testing idea. He would look like he was needlessly wasting everyone's time if he simply jsut dropped it.

It does seem crazy when you think that Mayweather has had a reputation for strategically picking his opponents, and has even gone as far as to set up his own drug testing procedures before he'll fight someone. If this doesn't say something about his lack of belief in himself as a fighter, I dont know what does.

Mayweather believes himself to a degree, of coarse he does, but no where near as much as he would have you believe.

100%.....Floyd has to stick with this stance giving how much trouble this has caused him. To abandon it now would only create MORE negative or adverse repercussions. Mostly to his reputation and legacy.

A lot has backfired on Floyd but one thing he can take from all this that is positive is the fact that HIS name is going to be tied to the drug testing improvments in boxing. He'll be the one who is given credit and rightfully so.....but at the end of the day no one believes he did this for the "greater good" like he claimed.

there's no way of telling because for example in the Mosley fight the testing period only lasted 6 weeks. So outside those six weeks Mosley or Floyd could have been cheating and noone would know.

Even with those tests they could easily be dirty, you can't be sure they are clean.

That Floyd has fear just like every other fighter. Smart fighters know how to harness it and make it useful.

Even Floyd isn't stupid enough to suddenly drop the drug tests. He chose that one-way route and there's no way back. Unless he wants to get accused of singling Pacquiao out.

It means a lot of its false bravado with him imo.

Someone likeCarl Froch has true confidence, now whether he is deluded/misguided to think that, is irrelevant, he truly believes it.
