You give a fighter 10 secs to get up- he did that You have the mouthpiece rinsed out and put it in asap- he did that When the ref feels it is intentional, deduct a point for spitting out the mouthpiece- he did that and he hurried Goosen as much as he could to not exacerbate Corrales' calculated move to clear his head. In every sport people take fouls strategically, boxing is no different and Weeks did an excellent job. This was an easy fight to mess up and he didnt do so.

Actually....I think the ref did a superb job. Realizing Corrales illegally spat out his mouth piece for added time, he took away a point to all this amazing fight to Play out. Weeks impressed me that night knowing just how special that fight was.
Weeks was aware enough to deduct a point during the "TIME". he didn't allow the clock to tick away giving Diego even more of an advantage... He controlled the fight the way a high quality ref should.
