I know some people that pass out after blood tests so it's not a case of "it will have no undesired effect", my ex used to pass out as soon as she could feel blood coming out of her arm.

Again, the point I was making was that it effects people in different ways. I personally don't mind my blood being taken, though I know my ex couldn't have them done with out blacking out and my current girl collapses at the sight of needles.
