both fighters are/were cherry pickers but Jones is ahead in this one. Mayweather can still man up and fight the best fighters out there. I doubt it though. Jones takes this one.

I flip flop on this all the time. Right now I think Mayweather is better. I'm not holding Jones recent results against him.
Out of the current boxers, as far as i know Jones is still active they are both way ahead of everyone else when consider who is an all time great.
Jones speed has made him in my opinion the best head to head at 168 and 175. I also think he could beat anyone at 160, but there are other guys I can also say that about.
Mayweather is the best head to head at 130. He would be more dommant at 130 than Jones at 168 or 175. He beats anyone other than Whitaker and Leonard at 135, and it would not shock me if he were to win vs either of them. He'd beat anyone at 140. The only guys I'd pick to beat him at 147 are the likes of Robinson and Hearns guys who are bigger than him. Whitaker is the only welterweight smaller than him who would have a chance to beat him.
What sets Mayweather apart from Jones is that Mayweather has the best boxing IQ since Benny Leonard. Not to take away from Jones speed. His sped has made him the best ever at two weight classes. I don't think it would serve him at heavyweight or crusierweight in hypthedical match ups. On the other hand Mayweather's ring IQ would serve him well at 154 and 160.

Jones Jr. Watch them both in their primes. No-brainer.

If Roy had hung 'em up after the Ruiz fight, would it change the result of this poll?

    Common Criticisms
Mayweather hasn't fought Pac- Jones didn't fight Darius

Mayweather wasn't the man at 140- Jones wasn't the man at 160, 175, or heavyweight

Mayweather cherrypicked- Jones fought Glen Kelly, Derrick Harmon, Otis Grant, David Telesco in his prime.

Mayweather didn't fight Tszyu, Casamayor, Spaddy (lol)- Jones didn't fight Nunn, McClellan, Benn, Eubank, Jirov.

Mayweather picked on small guy JMM- Jones picked on small guy Vinny Paz

Mayweather has had some boring fights- watch Jones v. Telesco, Gonzalez, Johnson.

Mayweather didn't knock out Baldomir- RJJ didnt knock out Telesco

Mayweather talks a lot of ****- RJJ talked a lot of ****

Mayweather says he fights for money- RJJ said he fights for money

Mayweather tries to rap- RJJ tried to rap

people forget that every criticism of Floyd now, RJJ was criticized even more so in his prime. I see none of you remember "the Roycott." Plus, he tested positive for steroids.

RJJ in his prime had out-of-this-world ability. To make ATG fighters like Toney and Bhop look ordinary cannot be rivaled. The only credable opponent to Floyd is Pac, and that is not happening for whatever reason. Although i rate Floyd as No1, we cannot ignore that this fight hasn't happened and the only reason has been that Pac is a major threat to his 0.

Yes, i don't condone such behaviour but he wasn't on steroids of all his career was he? He had extra-ordinary physical ability that makes him standout!

Until Floyd takes the Pac test, RJJ's 2 great wins will be above anything that Floyd beat.

Obviously jones jr. But victories over ortiz and pac would catapult floyd right into the upper echelons.
