Castillo more savvy and diverse; Ramirez too straight forward and one-dimensional.... Pure power goes to Ramirez, but skills go to Castillo.... MR.BILL
Castillo is the better fighter with the better resume but I don't think Castillo could come as close to beating Alexis Arguello as Ramirez did.
Wouldn't come close to being ko'ed by Corrales either I don't think. I'd pick Ramirez by **** in that one. As far as I'm concerned they're about on par. Castillo was a little more well rounded, but Ramirez was the more resilient. Head to head, I'd take Ramirez.
Ditto - but only the second time I watched it. Both times I thought you could argue it either way though.
I watched it once, tend not to re-score fights. Yeah, it's a very close bout, I think the knockdown late on clinched it for the Mexican. He boxed very well, showed a lot of good movement that night.
Stop watching the actual fights, you snobs! I demand you go by official outcomes listed on boxrec only! Everyone likes a piece of ass, no one likes a smartass. :bart I'm outta here. This content is protected
Ramirez put up some good performances throughout his career: Arguello, Rosario both times, Boza-Edwards, even the first Whitaker fight (obvious loss but not totally one sided). But his performances against Camacho and Mancini were pretty dire. I can't imagine Castillo being so one-sidedly defeated by either Camacho or Mancini, but I'd favour the likes of Arguello, Rosario, Whitaker (and Chavez) to have their way with him.
Why, I'd support it, if it were to put a stop to this ridiculous fight-watching hipsterism tomfoolery. :deal
Chin goes to Ramirez as well . Chavez , Camacho , Rosario *2 , Arguello , Juan Martin Coggi , Pernell Whitaker *2 , Ray Mancini , Cornellius Boza Edawards . And none of these could have stopped him. Castillo on the other hand has a handful of stoppage losses . But then he had close fights with Stevie Johnston *2 , Herman Ngoudju , Floyd Mayweather Jr. *2 and Joel Casamayor and his fights with Diego Corales *2 , Cesar Bazan , Juan Lazcano. I guess the latter resume reads better for you , excluding the stoppage losses of course:yep
