Thanks for sharing. Buster was classy about the entire situation. Mike clearly could not continue and even had Buster suffered his knockdown in the middle of the round, Mike could not have finished him, he could barely stand.

Buster was a great fighter when he was at his best. He always reminded me of a better version of Riddick Bowe when he is at his absolute best.

Tyson is really annoying in this interview because he doesnt answer any of the questiosn properly at all.

He also lied when he said Page never knocked him down

This annoys me greatly to this day. Instead of eating himself into a diabetic coma, Buster should've got into top shape again, & given Tyson a rematch in early '91. So it would've beeen the Mighty Mike from Ruddock I, versus a Douglas who was back on Peak form. Both would've still been in the top 10 of the Ring & ABC orgs, so the fight could've a title eliminator called "Redemption Reunion" with the winner facing Undisputed Champ Holy later in '91. Mike being mentally & physically supremely conditioned, having Giachetti in his corner, laserating the body with crippling bombs, using his dynamite straight righthand, & throwing ferociously with explosiveness & a respectable workrate, i say he takes it.

 

Tyson makes it quite CLEAR that he wants a Rematch asap. Douglas, is not as enthusiastic about a rematch as Tyson. That is clear!

 

I think he showed class in not mentioning the Knockdown by Page. it would of been like trying to take somethin away from Buster though I do still think they were STILL trying to take the title away from douglas with the long count

Thats whats annoying in this video, hes got a trio of incomptent buffoons in the corner, everybody is telling him this, however he refuses to accept it and claims everything is alright.

 

Yes its clear that he wants a rematch, but if you listen tot he interview, he does not give a clear answer to any of the questions asked.

 

Interesting to see both Clancy and DUndee pick Douglas to win again.
