A few years ago the never ending circle jerk WBA bore fests were in full swing. Ruiz, Valuev, Chagaev. Lather rinse repeat. With Ruiz and Valuev either retired or inactive, is the WBA going to be hell bent on having at least one champion in Chagaev to milk? The WBA has again shown their influence making this a "title" fight. Will the influence go beyond just making it a title fight? Anyway, Chagaev has been in some ugly, close fights during his career. Ruiz, Valuev, Drumond, Skelton (Not close, but ugly) Among others. He's always gotten the benefit of the doubt, and the styles clash between Povetkin and Chagaev looks to be a messy affair as well. Will this be a close, ugly fight where Chagaev again gets the nod because of the WBA's influence?
how much more influence do they need? they created a worthless title for them to fight for when wlad just won the damn belt a month ago.....
That's not really the issue here, try and read the actual opening post before you reply next time :hi:
He will if he fights in the style he does under the detrimental tutelage of Atlas, despite Teddy not being in his corner.
If it's an ugly scrappy fight I wouldn't be surprised at all if the judges mysteriously favor Chagaev at the end of the night.
Last I heard, Teddy was training him for this fight. What gives? :huh As for the WBA and their matchmaking, I gotta believe they'll do everything in their power to keep Wlad away from their junior champ. Being they have a Super and a junior champ, they can collect championship caliber sanctioning fees from both.
Maybe Teddy trained Povetkin for the fight, but he's doing ESPN commentary instead of corner work. How about this... they could just let Wlad beat their worthless regular champ, then upgrade Wlad to "WBA Super Dee Duper Champ" & make their "super" & "regular" belts vacant.:rofl:rofl:rofl
Ok, sorry... I see it being a close fight & tricky to score, so as a "WBA favourite boy" Chagaev may generously get the nod.
