Armando "Tyson" Robles just got KTFO after an all-out war with Jorge "Pantera" Silva late in the 8th round. Robles went down several times in the round but kept rising to fight back until a final left hook in an exchange left him motionless on his back.

From the last couple of rounds this looked like an absolute barn burner.

The main event should be soon. Next is probably a 10 rounder between Aaron Herrera and Carlos Velasquez, and that should be it for undercard.

No, it was originally supposed to be, but according to Dan Rafael, it's now airing on TV Azteca.

The Nicaraguan journeyman is walking out to the ring for the lightweight co-main event.

The classy Jimmy Lennon Jr. is flanked by Tecate girls!

I want to have a highball in that ring.

The referee's name is Poopy Ramos. :blood I swear that's what Lennon just said. (although there's a lot of crowd noise nearly drowning out the PA).

    Round 1

Velasquez (wearing blue trunks with white belt and hip stripes) circles left and tosses out hard but meandering overhand rights at Herrera (wearing "silver" - really whitish - trunks with blue belt and hip stripes in an identical pattern, leading the Spanish commentators to share a laugh about who's who). Body jabs by Herrera from the outside. Velasquez is pulling the same move and getting predictable, a quick two step to his left as he circles before popping off straight down the middle with either hand. Herrera seems to have him well scouted and is able to land jabs and block the tip end of the Nicaraguan's 1-2 while moving left himself with slow surety. Herrera throws a wide left hook that gets ducked, and he hasn't really landed anything but jabs but it's enough.

    10-9 Herrera

    Round 2

Invasive jabs to the body by Herrera. Velasquez tries to hammer him coming in, pitching overhands and dropping a level to lurch forward. Herrera's jabs then wind up hung over his back like bloomers on a clothesline as they come together with Velasquez's beefy shoulders slamming a bit of wind out of Herrera's diaphragm. Herrera is trying to stay outside and focus on the jab. Velasquez is backpedaling away from the jabs to the body and blocking those aimed higher with a tight guard. Velasquez is throwing mostly power shots, hooks and overhands together but not getting through cleanly. Herrera steps inside and gets a few hooks in on the visitor's face before gliding out to the side. Herrera jabs to the body and turns Velasquez, who keeps patiently firing bombs past the jab.
