Dirrell = professional boxer Juv = keyboard warrior with a teddy bear avatar. How to decide who the ***** is between these two...
Not much of a boxing expert to think Paulie Malignaggi can KTFO anyone. Even a casual fan like me know Paulie can't KTFO **** and I haven't even seen most of his fights! lol
perhaps forgotten but not missed [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTnOw5w8Wcw&feature=player_detailpage[/ame] They way he acted before the Froch fight and under the fight :|...............and whats this about hitting a man on the floor (45 seconds) You cant respect a guy, that acts like that....:-(........
You proclaim you are a class above being a hardcore fan and the purvery of all boxing knowledge. Why when you are a hardcore fan, and watch boxing so seriously that you can't tell Paulie has no power? Damn how many fights do you have to watch of his to realise that? I only watch a few of his fights and realise it asap. Yeah I can judge a man based on one fight. If it was technical skills or physical attributes those can be improved upon. But if it is mental, that is v hard to improve upon. There is obviously a chance but I think it is v v unlikely and not see his blates weakness and call him the 'True Star' of S6. Joker. Yeah I can spot which fighter show fear. I smell fear as my living. I am ultra sensitive to fear and he absolutely stank the place out. No wonder you keep talking about safely of your own computer 'cos you must never have been in a fight in your life when you can't tell his whole body language and demeanour was of a chicken ****. How serious boxing fan can you be when you can't even tell basic emotions like shitting your pants. Stick to your computer bro and be self styled hardcore fan behind your computer.
Talent = speed? :huh Because that's Dirrell's strength. I don't see him setting traps, slipping punches or using ring position to throw his opponents timing off. By this statement you say Manny has more talent than Floyd. That Dawson has more talent than Hopkins. That Bute has more talent than Ward. Talent = speed? REALLY!!?!?!?!
I found Dirrell likeable enough while he was in the tournament - no one can deny his talent and the step-up in quality and maturity between the Froch and Abraham fights was, at least in my view, quite astonishing at the time. However, I don't think you can blame people for having something of an ambivalnce toward him. In both of his fights on the world stage he showed streaks of immense ability, but ultimately left a lot of unanswered questions. Let's face facts- whichever way you look at it, Dirrell fan or not, his body of work in the tournament amounts to: a) a controversial loss that left many people repelled by his style and b) a controversial win with a decidedly weird ending. Sure, there is a case for him winning the Froch fight, but it's only a case - in a lot of people's minds, he failed to make as bold a statement as he could have. Against Abraham, he put on quite a show and maybe was en route to a landmark victory, but the end of that fight really dampened his achievement. It wasn't his fault that Abraham fouled him, but the fact is no one got to see him make it to the final bell and be declared winner, and there are plenty fans who thought Abraham was still in the fight. And now, months down the line, Froch and Ward have both outclassed Abraham too. Add to that Dirrell's reluctance to fight Ward and subsequent exit from the tournament for reasons many people thought were qutie tenuous, and you're left with a guy who has asked more questions than he's answered. I also think it's a bit rich of him to come out after all of that, asking to fight the winner of the S6. By all means I wish him success, but I'd just like to see him in a fight that doesn't have some controversial twist!
You're right. Far too many people called fast boxers skilled, just like they call fleet footed boxers slick or pressure fighters get wrongly accused of being limited. Anyone who seriously thinks Dirrell is skilled is wrong. He simply isn't. He has great physical assets and thats about it. If you took away his foot and hand speed along with his reflexes, he'd be a distinctly average fighter because he has never needed to use skills.
