Jermain Taylor - I miss this guy

I thought Taylor had a homecoming fight coming up ? :s Regardless, I miss this fighter - such a class act.

 

Taylor - One of the good guys..

 

Taylor is a good, honest professional. He is also an elite but flawed fighter. He has provided great entertainment over the years and been involved in some top fights, so he shouldn't be called a bum. If he had better stamina, who knows what he could have achieved?

Making a comeback is a bad idea. The guy has taken too much punishment and shattering his mandible again could lead to serious injury.

 

He was always very gifted and athletic, but if he couldnt ko or stop an opponent hed get sloppy and instead of cruising to a decision hed start getting sloppy. He had too much heart and fought with his heart instead of his head thats where I see the similarity with Pavlik. Thats why smaller, but smarter craftier fighters like Spinks and Ouma back then made him look bad. I knew motivated hed beat Hopkins with the high energy style he has, but if only he knew how to avoid right hands and take breaks between rounds clinching, moving his head and so forth, JT could of beaten anyone. He was boxing AA and Frochs ears off before the stoppages. He needs to spar with punchers like Sergio or Golovkin to see where hes at. A fight with Sturm, Jacobs, or Pirog would be interesting. He did lose to elite fighters and current or former champions.

Alot of White fight fans and European fight fans miss Jermaine Taylor.

Well... Sure.. I do not "Hate" Ward, i just cant become a fan of him (yet), if he would fight clean and travel, then maybe.. Because he is certainly a gifted fighter..

 

Yeah I'd be a fan of Mikkel Kessler if he had head movement, a right hand, wasnt so robotic, and stopped challenging the worst belt holder in the division every year.
