For the same reason Bernard Hopkins turned his ass Calzaghe's way. On a serious note. A strong chin is probably exactly what is needed for Froch to land on Ward. Ward's punch power doesn't look impressive on TV but his accuracy and punch load looks good.
This fight always raised some thoughts on both guys. Ok, we know Taylor gasses out. BUt he looked pretty good for the most part. And remember, he is the one going up in weight! He is beating Froch up on many occasions. Where would be Froch without that ko? Where would be taylor with a victory over the current Super 6 finalist (would Froch be the super 6 finalist??)?
Isn't Carl Froch a supermiddleweight Vitaly Klitschko? Very similar styles. Both can take a punch, keep their hands low, similar footwork..
That's true. But he takes about five seconds to clear his head and then some comes straight back swinging. Froch is like the Terminator.
Good chin or not Against Bute.....will hurt him to the body and he is gonna lost his legs. That left uppercut to the liver by Bute ..it's one of the best weapon in the sport today..... and IF... Bute lands it....forget it, nobody will be able to take it
His chin is the only thing that keeps him in the top of the division, if he didnt have it Pascal, Dirrell and Taylor would have all beaten him.
Taking that uppercut wasn't really that impressive. It was a lead hand uppercut thrown more for technique than power. One of the weakest punches in most orthodox fighter's repertoires (outside RJJ of course).
