Light Middleweight - The best division in boxing right now

Not due to the quality of fighter at the top, but due to the type of fighter. Plus its very competative.

I think if you put any of those guys in the ring with one another you would have an exciting fight. None of these guys belong in the top 10 P4P yet but it would be extremly exciting if they came together.

 

Good division, but the lack of quality turns me off a bit. 168 is the best for me and in the next 12 months we should hopefully have a consensus no.1 of a great division; as long as Showtime do their job. Mind you Kirkland-Ishida was my favourite fight of last year:yep

 

SMW is by far the best division

 

Until Kirkland rids himself of Ann Wolfe he's going nowhere.

Plus, his chin might be the worst I've ever seen, put down three times by grazing shots from a complete non-entity in Ishida. He could probably have continued to be knocked down another 30 times and not be badly hurt, but thankfully (and amusingly) Cortez rugby tackled him to the deck and waved him off.

You've got to see some of the sparring on YT, he's in with this guy who's no better than a pub drunk, and he's pounding on him. Instead of stopping it and getting somebody else the trainer is seen cheerleading, probably singing ''Go James..... you da champ!'' as some poor ****er gets his head smashed in!

 

I couldnt agree more, the guy is nothing more than ghetto trash as a person, and as a boxer he's the most one dimentional slugger u could ever hope to come across. and his trainer is even worse, I remember watching that shitty hbo documentary where they made her look like the second coming of christ, but all that **** she was making him do would be more helpful in his other career as a criminal than it does in the ring. The guy has no fundamentals at all.

He's just lucky Julio tired against him, otherwise he would have been found out long ago.

 

He got knocked out when he wasn’t working with Wolfe. In his run with her he was doing brilliantly. Now they’re back together we’ll see. He clearly needs some confidence building after that pitiful loss.

 

The Julio whose ass he was kicking from beginning till end of the fight? Yeah, he was lucky Julio got tired!

Kirkland is an enigma, nobody can say they saw that coming against that opponent. Particularly after he came through Joel Julio who was known as a decent puncher. To be sparked by that bum was baffling, didn't look hard shots either.

 

IBO counts for **** all.

 

Super Middle, Bantam, and LWW are better.

 

The next 12 months will be great.

Kessler, Bute, Froch and Ward fight to a conclusion.

Winner moves up and fights the man at 175.

Wolfe is not bad for Kirkland. She knows how to build a powerful, hook-heavy style, whicb is what Kirkland is obviously good out (supposed amateur pedigree but no sign of it)

He just isn't very good. Getting ass rammed in jail for years will strip your punch resistance away, and I always felt he was less than iron even when engaging in slug fests with Julio and Vera. Ishida was obviously there to give him rounds without sparking him, so that was a surprise (but Kirk was stiffened by a joke journeyman in his outing before, so I knew it would happen eventually)

Just an average fighter.

 

Super middle and bantam are better in my opinion. 154 is good though.

 

Welterweight is the one; Mayweather, Pacquiao, Ortiz, Berto, Jones and Brook coming through and obviously with Khan moving up, it is going to be some weight division!

Supper Middle weight is great too; we just need to get Bute in the mix with the top guys and we will get some fireworks and hopefully a lineal champion.

Then you've got the LWW

And then I'd say the Light Middle weight division; If Cotto beats Margarito I want Alvarez vs Cotto (a match that could turn Alvarez into a super star).
