So what were the intangibles of Leon Spinks, Michael Spinks, Ron Lyle, Gerry Cooney,Leroy Jones, Mike Weaver, Trevor Berbick, Alf Angelisto, Jimmy Young, Joe Bugner, Oscar Bonaveno, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc........???????? You talk about Haye and Adamek being blown up CWs.....Yeah, they are, but they were nearly perfect as such, unlike many of Ali's blown up CW challengers, who OFTEN lost to club fighters. Yeah, the division APPEARS to be weak, but it's not because of a lack of talented HWs. Instead it is because we are witnessing an era of complete domination. History is being made, and all the haters wanna do is close their eyes and pretend it's not happening.:huh
Even though their styles are exactly the same, Watching this is more exciting than watching a Klit fight. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joDjwtjIQS8[/ame] Vlad Versus Vitali Klitscho
Danish, you just made my day (even if it isn't yours)! :good Expect to get a huge pile of sh*t now from the Ali lovers. I guess that "The_President" guy already did, but I can't read his posts anymore. Not that you have to take him seriously of course.
Wlad is definitely Top15. In the best case, he is Top10 of all time. Vitali is definitely Top20. In the best case, he is Top15 of all time. This is considering legacy and h2h status. Both have very decent legacies and do very well in h2h.
I have Wlad ahead on my ATG list because Vitali retired to enter politics. Had he remained, recovered from his sciatica, he probably would have gotten Valuev, Toney, and Holy on his resume, along with Rahman and Maskaev, and maybe even Golota. That said, I got Wlad at 8 right now. But 10 more defenses and becoming undisputed in an era in which the sanctioning bodies fight tooth and nail to prevent it, I would say he could move into 3rd or even 2nd AT. Vitali, I have at 11, but should he add Haye, Solis2, Stiverne, Adamek, and Helenius/Fury to his resume, while fighting on into his 42nd year, I would move him into the top 10, around 8-9. Not bad, two brothers, owning the HW crown, and dominating boxing for over a decade, nearly winning EVERY round in which they fought is HISTORY. Our grandchildren's grandchildren will be talking about those two Ukrainian brothers who fought side by side, and beat every contender there was to be beat.:deal
Why are you so racist? did some europeans bully you at school or something? :think Listen, Denmark is a little country (which reached a population of 5 million people in 1970), and on top of that it has never been a boxing country.. So that has of course limited the talent pool alot.. America on the other hand has had 175+ million people for a loooooong time and has been a boxing country from.. Probably 1930-1990 (where eastern europe was unable to compete) My first avatar was one with Klitschko brothers :good (this one with Hearns is my 2nd).. And you wanna know why? Cause i respect the hall of famers America has produced, i think that the american HW's are overrated, but i still respect them.. The Hitman is freaking awesome!! btw :bbb.. Having an avatar of an American legend doesnt prove that the country is superior to anything, it proves that i am not a biased idiot..
Stop waffling ya dutch untalented spectator and name all those Dutch ATGs your country produces. :yep
If this troll thread is about achievements, I don't see how Wladimir would be out of top10 HEAVY weights. If it is about the talent and ability to be a dominant heavy weight fighter it puzzles me why anyone would put Wladimir ahead of Vitali. Vitali would be very near top10 in that category. Wlad is way ahead of Vitali in achievements and Vitali is way more complete and strong a *fighter* than Wladimir is.
LOL, David Haye would have been KO'ed in round 2 by Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Frazier and all the contenders they fought. The HW division today is a joke!! I would seriously question if any of these bums even qualify for the HOF.
Im not Dutch, im Danish .. As i said, this country have never been in to boxing, and has one of the smallest populations in the world..
I actually am Dutch and it may be the reason why I don't care at all where a boxer comes from. I have no problem with rooting for guys from your home country, even if they are bad. But some guys just keep hyping 'm up and have no respect for boxers from other countries, even if they beat the crap out of their "homeboys" every time out.
Agreed! Haye saw opportunity, and took it. But let's not elevate it beyond what it truly is; A British hype, going to Mob controlled Germany to fight one of the King Of The Bums. :smoke
