I'd say around UFC 22 or 2000 is when I stopped seeing shoes being worn in The UFC. I'm not certain, but I believe I have seen fighters wearing shoes after 1999 in Pride. Personally, I have a hard time doing physical activities barefoot, I need some support. Was "no shoes allowed" an organizational trend, and became one of the unified rules? What's the story? I can totally see shoes not being allowed since you did not have to wear them, and we had matches with one fighter wearing shoes and the other barefoot.. Maybe the thought they could level the playing field in doing so? Thanks MMA :thumbsup
http://www.abcboxing.com/unified_mma_rules.html Right on, here are the rules if anyone wants to know. I'm feeling kinda lazy, but I didn't see anything about shoes in there.. I just wanna know why and why not :|:|:|
Mark Coleman got booted in the face by Pete whateverhisnamewas (can't remember at the mo')....brutal!
They dont allow shoes in ufc cuz they are dangerous weapons, just imagine what damage you can cause to your opponent with just your shoes. Remember what happened to Bush when he went to irak and that dude threw his shoes at him.
George Bush is a master at shoe dodging, ever since Random Tasks failed assassination attempt. This content is protected They sent their best and W still standin.
