Best Finisher : Foreman, Shavers, Tyson or Liston

he did knock out lyle though. ali has one of the greatest chins in history so we can cut slcak there I believe.

everything else was comeback foreman, can't be held against him.

true he knocked out lyle but do you think tyson or listen would have let it get to the fifth if lyle was dead on his feet?

and it's true that ali has an AMAZING chin but this is well past prime ali, and if doug jones, cooper and frazier could knock him down, how come foreman couldn't while teeing off on him? power wasn't his issue, it was accuracy and calm, deliberate attacks that he was lacking

tyson easily, ruddock II and douglas are the only real examples of him having a man hurt then not being able or not going for the finish

damn, young's toughness along with george's stupidity is a dangerous combination

 

not seen it in ages, forgot totally about that. still if prime george only failed to get one man out in his last fight, not too bad eh?

 

I'm not sure Liston would have let him off, remember tho lyle himself was a huge puncher so you can never be too careful.

i think this is different though. a finisher is when you have someone hurt and put them away. he never really got to ali in a great manner.

Tyson should not even be on that list, all he finished were cab drivers and bums.

 

And in the case of Douglas, it should be said that Douglas more or less completely regained his bearings during the break between rounds. Tyson nedver got the opportunity to have a go at him while he was still hurt.

I must say that Foreman was a surprsingly good finisher for someone with his limited skills and stamina, but I'd still have Tyson ahead of him. Liston too perhaps.

yeah, tyson is an easy #1 for me but foreman and liston are close for #2. i just feel that foreman wasted WAY too much effort trying to finish whereas liston was much more clinical

Shavers could drop em but not finish them, Lyle,Mercado,Holmes,Tillis, Foreman was decent but when he hit you it was hard to recover yet Young and Ali did it and Lyle got up to fire back a couple of times. Liston was a good finisher but Tyson was as well but he failed to finish Buster and Danny Williams
