The SMW division is stronger than it has ever been. Will the best fight the best?

Yes, the era is much stronger than the previous mainly because of the S6 forcing the best to fight the best.
In the previous era that didn't happen.
Jones fought who was available, but for teh most part, didn't meet those claiming to be the best. Of the British fighters, only Benn had the balls to fight the best. Eubanks didn't, Calfaggy fought every bum in Britian, Toney stepped up, and everyone ran from Hopkins.
Today, Bute is very similar to those English bum lovers above, but for the most part, the best are meeting the best.

All 5 also has excellent boxing skills (while Ward being the best of the corp)..
Ward has extremely good tactical skills, Dirrell Doesnt really have that, but he has pretty good punch technique though..
Froch may not have great skills, but his mental and physical tougness makes up for it..
Kessler one-dimensional.. Maybe.. Anyway, that dimension was good enough to earn him the right to call him self 3 times world champion (4 times soon)..

Tell us what Ward has done so far thats so special other than beat an unwell double vision suffering Kessler at home with illegal tactics.
After that its not the best at all with -
Green - who couldnt beat Miranda and was KOd by Johnson in his next fight
Bika - who Bute beat clearer years previously
Abraham - coming off of 2 clear S6 defeats and who had been exposed and wanting to go back to MW

Yeah top stuff and guess what. While all of the other original S6 members travelled, Ward has stayed at home

the top guys are finally fighting each other! Something that didn't happen enough when Ottke/Calzaghe/Beyer were ruling the roost.

My main objection to your post is that Ottke and Calzaghe dominated the division for several years but yet failed to get that all-important showdown.

Did happen when there was 3 undefeated champs in Calzaghe, Lacy and Kessler and Beyer the 3 time WBC champ

As soon as Ottke was retired and his title filled the fight happend and Lacy was more respected at that time than Ottke, as was Kessler who was also beaten

That is just a terrible ignorant statement. Consider this:

Calzaghe never wanted to go to Germany to fight the recognized no.1.

And Kessler fought Calzaghe with a broken hand that prevented him from sparring. It was surgically repaired after the fight. Had Joe had the courage to travel to Copenhagen I think he'd have lost.

    Disagree.

Bute has fought the best 168 lbs out there, outside of the super 6.

People dont like to admit that Andrade, Magee,Brinkley,Bika,Mendy were all top 10 fighters when he fought them.

Now that the super 6 is winding down, look to him to fight the elite guys.

I think that in the end, you're going to have Ward at the top of the heap, and he will have an amazing legacy.

Ward could have a resume with wins over Kessler,Abraham,Froch and Bute and one or 2 more all before hes 30.

If it happens like that, you could be looking at a guy in the ATG rankings.

If he cleans up the SMW division, hes still got plenty of time,to go up and fight the Dawsons, Pascals, Hopkins etc at LHW.

Ward is coming into his prime at just the right time,in the right division to build a legacy.

    Counter disagree.

None of those listed (Andrade, Magee,Brinkley,Bika,Mendy) are acknowledged anywhere near, as the best. In fact, they could best be described as low level contenders, in spite of short term hlding a title.

AA, Froch, Ward, Dirrell, Johnson, Hopkins, Pavlik, Taylor, Kessler are the acknowledged best. These all have fought each other.
Which of these fighters has Bute meet?

If Bute FINALLY decides to stop doing a Calzaghe imitation and step up, I will reserve future judgment on the outcome of those matches. Until then, I see Bute as a ducker who avoided the S6, and avoided any meaningful competition while teh S6 was being held.

I am over it, but when you downgrade Ward's win over an unwell Kessler and at the same time praise Calzaghe's win, I just need to set the record straight so readers wont be mislead by your sheepshag propaganda.
