He didn't fight at the jr. middleweight weight limit either.

Still, not the best comparison. Both fighters in that fight at least adhered to the pre-fightn agreement, whereas May did not in his fight with Marquez. If it weren't for the fact that the Margie fight was for the JMW belt, I think most people would have considered this a WW fight with Pac allowing Margie to come in overweight if he wanted to. Effectively, that's what it was anyways.

Not excusing it, but remember, Margie willingly took that fight. And he was right to not be picky either, since by rights he should have been banished for life from the sport already. If people have an objection to that fight, that should be the reason and not the catchweight agreement.

You have got to be kidding, JMM hit Floyd with the most flush shots ever, these types of posts are what makes it difficult to have a sensible debate, total nonsense...

I don't recall which rounds they were but Mayweather had a couple rounds were Marquez was putting tremendous pressure on Floyd while he he was on the ropes, even though majority of those punches werent landing, activity win's rounds sometimes.

In any other era, the LW champion and P4P great moving up in weight to fight the semi-retired WW champion and ATG would be seen as a HUGE fight. And four pounds wouldn't have angered the broad fanbase.

People take any stance on any argument and give that justification the most weight. You are going to find it one way or the other.

I watched the fight many times Marquez him with at least 5 flush overhand rights, not that they had any effect on Floyd but, it is what it is, I watch fights from a non biased POV.

You have to give Marquez rounds for trying, even when Mayweather clearly took his foot off the gas and basically walked Marquez a fellow Golden Boy fighter to the finish line when he could have stopped him whenever, but thats another story and thread...........

My understanding is that catchweights have happened a lot in history, going all the way back ton the late 19th century. I haven't heard of any fighter getting hate for it until Pac did it for the first time in his career against Cotto.

I worry about your mental health if you believe this to be true.

I also am unbiased and call fights how they are, I would agree with you but i feel , Corley, Zab & even Ndou hit Floyd with more or equally as many shots as Juan, even Shane landed at least 4 or 5 good right hands, Hatton also landed some clean shots...

Reppin you are one of the few posters I sometimes agree with, but if you would have payed more attention you would know that that post was a reply to big Mike, I was quoting him, he believes JMM hit Floyd with the most flush shots ever, try again...

That is the difference sometimes when it comes to fighting. mayweather fights many of his fights with his brains. Marquez should be doing the same. I know deep down he feels as if he can win, but fight at a weight that gives you that fair chance. Pac didn't want him for a couple of years , now that marquez is older, with more wear and tear, he wants him to come up. Pac knew Marquez's Mexican spirit would get the best of him, and it did. marquez should have never taken this fight. Pac will kill him come Novemeber.
