what froch says is true....ward is feather fisted, boring and hasn't fought anyone but Ward will frustrate him and might shoeshine to an annoying pts win

Could be possible but Froch has the reach and height advantages which were the keys in controlling the outside game. Froch could possibly control the outside too.

Ward has the speed key tho.

Ward hasn't fought anyone? Some of you guys on this forum either don't follow these divisions close or have some extremely high standards.

He's wrong about the "he can't punch" part.

Dre doesn't have a power punching one-hit-win style. That doesn't mean he can't sit on one firmly enough to make Frocg snap to attention. I think if he really turned one over with bad intentions, Ward's best shot wouldn't be much weaker than ones Froch was hurt with by Taylor, Pascal, and Dirrell.

And I handled Dirrell quite easily.”

Someone needs to shut Froch up. He was outclasses by Dirrell in the last rounds of the fight. Froch should thank the hometown decision he had. He is delusional.

you have got to love carl. he's a confident fellow isn't he?

the part about dirrell being an easy fight is coming across wrong. what he means is he felt he wasn't in trouble, didn't get bust up etc etc...

it was a close fight with dirrell but, i agree he wasn't in any real trouble. it will be a tough fight with ward but, i feel froch will come out on top. if ward keeps it clean, i don't think carl will have too much trouble... he may miss some shots but, that's about it. if ward wins in a clean fashion, i will give him credit. if he cheats, or there's a robbery, then he'll get no credit from me.

lets hope there's a ref to keep the little cheat in check.

He's in for a real clear surprise. A 42 year old GJ is a near mummy compared to Ward. Kessler is a full two speeds slower than Ward. Pascal, Taylor, and Abraham have about 1/2 of Ward's diversity and ring IQ. Ward compared to the less mature version of Dirrell he fought is gonna be nearly as quick and his shifting is gonna make him have to constantly reset and Ward will be catching Froch with scoring punches that he will have no ability to anticipate and still be in position to return fire. Carl's lack of a good inside game is gonna be crucial. I expect a clear one sided points win.

The 34 year old will be near his apex in strength but his footwork and agility are not notable. And, unfortunately, the near 28 year old at the time of the fight has already matured quite a bit after facing the firepower of Miranda, Kessler, Green, Bika, and Abraham in exactly 24 months. Perhaps if they had met when Ward was 25 with eighteen fights and not having any decent opposition it could have been different. This isn't even the best version of Ward as he will likely be stronger and better after this fight when he is about 30.

This will be great to watch. I hope Carl rises to the moment and leaves us with another memorable battle. He can't change what he is at 34 years. He needs to find a way to make the best use of his length/reach. I doubt he has a discernible chance to win.

If Ward hasn't fought anyone, then neither has Froch.

Froch is becoming ****** lately, he's starting to get on my nuts. He got a homecooked decision with Dirrell and then talk **** afterwards....

Froch wasnt landing at all before that MMA grab in 4th or 5th round.

And Froch didnt touch at all Dirrel after the ref took a point away in 9th...

Froch didn't deserve the win and I beleive, he's the most overrated fighter in the world of boxing right now.

I feel sorry for him, he's going to school against Ward and he doesnt even know it.
