Agree totally with what you say about Taylor. A very robotic basic fighter.

As far as JT goes, if you've seen him spar and seen him fight in person maybe you have a better view of it, but in the fights I've seen I've seen him beat guys and control entire rounds with his jab. So if he has a nervous tick obviously it hasn't affected him as no one has been able to take advantage of it.

Anderson Silva on the other hand has a lot of technical skills and isn't just a RJJ style fighter. I think Jon Jones is the RJJ of MMA. I think Anderson Silva has technical skill with regard to kickboxing, boxing, and BJJ. It's just a situation where he has never had to use them.

He proved to me that he has them because he beat Sonnen on technical skill when he couldn't physically beat him. He has been winning his last few fights on tactical or technical moves, or trick moves like that ridiculous kick. And it's not the first time he did a non telegraphed one punch knock out, he knocked some dude out with a jab a few fights prior to that.

I do think a wrestler could beat Anderson Silva due to MMA rules. But who at that weight could outstrike Silva? Who at that weight has better technique?

If you can name a fighter who has the technical skill to do it in any weightclass and tell me how you think the fight would go I'd consider it. And yes I think GSP has a chance, and it's very slim.

I've actually been working on this. I would load up on my right cross and left hook too much and kinda charge up my hip and then throw and kinda throw my hip first into the punch and it would add speed and power to my punch, but it really made it slower, because the process of me loading up took too long and telegraphed my punch

I never seen him fight before, but he makes perfect senses. Wether he can whip Kimbo ass or not.

Anderson Silva knocks out Forrest Griffin with a completely untelegraphed jab, the same punch Hopkins is describing. This should prove my point that Anderson Silva has advanced technical skills not just physical.

He does several things in this fight which are technically advanced. He switches transitions to southpaw stance in MMA, which is much harder to do like that then in boxing because he has to worry about defending kicks and takedowns. He feints extremely well, and everything he does is untelegraphed and almost appears spontaneous.

If you are the opponent you don't know what Anderson Silva is going to pull out of his bag of tricks. You don't know what angle it will come from because he keeps changing angles. It's MMA not boxing so a lot of his moves would only work in MMA, but some of his moves such as the KO move in this fight come straight from boxing. And the more recent KO by front kick is just as technical as this jab KO.

He is the only fighter in MMA other than GSP who has the technical skill to do this.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72C8UJlkTKk[/ame] and here is Anderson Silva's untelegraphed front kick. You have no idea how difficult this is to do. I don't think Bruce Lee could have pulled something like this off. And it's entirely on technique.

Crocop has better kicking ability from a physical perspective but Crocop telegraphs his kicks which is why he wasn't knocking guys out in the UFC once people figured out he has that kick. With Silva there is no indication at all the kick was coming and he feints so well that you might think he's going to do something else like jab.

Martial artists tend to over-believe in the effectiveness of a single strike. Sure, it's cool to not telegraph. It also sacrifices a **** ton of power and OH LOOK I JUST TOUCHED YOUR FACE BEFORE YOU COULD EVEN SEE---:vonnecunt...and that's the end of that.

I like the explanation. In an actual fight, 100% accurate. All you have to do is catch a guy right with one quick sharp shot. In boxing it's a little more complicated, but the principle is still a useful one.

Seagal is definitely the real deal but Aikido is pretty passive....dangerous...but passive. It's more concerned with disarming and neutralizing rather than inflicting serious damage for damage's sake.
