Remember when Mayweather came into the Sky studios for one of his promotional tours and in every other sentence he was like 'I love Sky sports' and 'I love all my British fans' etc typical money grabbing yank - will go to any length to chase the last dollar. I am sure this PPV will totally bomb.

Gasman - I don't get why everyone is so determined for this to fail. A new player in the boxing Market. The other side of this coin is that we get free boxing on 5 as part of the deal.
    And is Bunce on Primetime?

I have been supporting Primetime on here and elsewhere since day one. And I agree with you. However, all channels (not only Sky) will get critiqued on the value of their PPV offering.

I do not think this card is worth £15. It is at 4am, Mayweather-Ortiz is an easy nights work for Floyd. The Morales fight should not be for a World Title, Bradley was unfairly stripped, and to benefit Goldenboy. And Canola will win very comfortably in his fight.

Finally, boxing punters have been getting these types of cards at no extra cost to their Sky subs, so for me to buy these fights, they need to be special events and match ups that interest me, especially at 4am.

How much is that an issue GM? The fact people "expect" (and have been largely getting)these fights as part of their Sky subsciptions for years and now theres a new option for these promoters and paying the monthly Sky subs is'nt delivering the fights that boxing fans would like it to?

ie. how much of the blame should go to PrimeTime for operating in a free market and how much to Sky for to stumping enough enough cash to get the fight?

Genuine question (with a slight touch of Devils Advocate thrown in!!)....;O)

The issue is that Primetime must face the reality that most of their target market i.e. boxing nuts like you and me (who might potentially sit up half the night to watch boxing) already subscribe to Sky. So, we pay a monthly subscription for boxing that offers me boxing most weeks from the UK as well as US cards - some of which used to be Mayweather fights.

If it is Khan-Mayweather, Pac-Mayweather - no problem I will pay my £15. But, not Mayweather-Ortiz, not a chance.

*And I have said many times on here, that Primetime should be welcomed as they provide choice i.e. Froch-AA, Froch-Dirrel, Froch-Kessler etc.

I don't think its a question of paying, or not paying, for Mayweather-Ortiz, thats a personal choice. Just that there may have been a sense of Sky being the only show in town and as long as you paid your subs to them you'd see a decent percentage of the top American fights, it looks like that is changing.

If Primetime is more lucrative/ attractive to American promoters then maybe Sky arn't placing enough monetary value on these fights esp. now they seem to have competition when bidding for the first time since Setanta went tits up??

Are you going to have Duke McKenzie again? Please ditch him. Please. Another episode of him going off on tangents again and I think we'll all end up in a mental facility.
