Tony fought well but came up just a little short on the judges score cards. A last minute opponent change and a higher 180 weight class "Tony fights normally at 165 to 168" may have had some effect but his new opponent, Oliver Rivera, from Frank's Gym in Grand Island, Nebraska proved to be a very tough cookie. Tony's original opponent was an 18 fight Air Force amateur named Daniel Logan from Tinker Air Force and the Sim's Boxing Soldiers in Oklahoma City. The Golden Gloves people would not sanction the fight because of the fight total difference. Tony has only had 6 amateur fights.

Having issues with my lap top. It did not travel well but I am working on getting it corrected. So there is a slight delay on uploading the video. After re-watching it tho, I can see it was a very close fight and Tony did very well. Tony is a bit of a slow starter so if it had been a longer fight Tony would have dominated. He was not the least bit tired and he was coming on stronger as the fight went on. There is no doubt in my mind that he could have gone 6 or 8 rounds. Tony learned a lot from this fight. He took left hooks that he shouldn't have. He needs to keep his hands up and not move straight back. He spent too much time on the ropes and he did not let his hands go enough. His opponent who I gave the nick name "The Baby Bull" said Tony was the best fighter he had ever met and he had never been hit as hard as he was in this fight. Tony is a natural athelete, a gym rat and an amazing physical specimen. Not to mention a terrific young man. I was honored and blessed to work his corner.
