ask jeff if he ever gets the urge to jump back in occasionally even if just to chase a nsw title or something like that?
Cheers Josey, appreciated mate :good No worries woftam, good on you for suggesting the idea anyway, looks like Gonz is a happy fella :good
damn, the generosity of some of the people in here really is amazing... i appreciate it no end and hopefully the gloves and what not raise some good money. Rest assured they are going to a good cause and not my private collection big shout out to darkhorse and Jim for all their help! After just talking to Kostya for a few minutes today it has really got my appetite to start writing and interviewing going... hope i can get some opportunities and can get some stuff published
i second that gonzo, the generousity is incredible , good to see posters getting along and helping each other out for a change rather than going at it like cats and dogs. Good to see the kostya interview went well! id love to see lebedev vs green aswell.
Big ask for Danny mate at this stage of his career , if I was Danny ( who as far as I'm concerned regained my respect during the Tarver fight ) I would wind down my career with a few farewell fights in Perth as a reward to my loyal following and to gain a few more quid for my family pension fund .
atsch I only just noticed my name with the other 2 in post #18. :? Doesn't matter, I'd freeze on the phone talking to Zoo anyhow.
:good i think thats most likely the plan if the tarver fight doesnt come through, most likely shane cameron etc, btw in no way am i discrediting shane cameron i just see green as a level above
i did a little i mean, i was talking to one of my idols since i was a kid, just having a casual yarn about boxing i would love to get him when he had plenty of time and do a proper interview where i had a heap of questions etc
I forgot to ask Kostya about Tim. Damn! Ah well. Softly spoken nice dude. I always expected him to be very sort of brash from his Russian background. It was a surreal experience to be honest, never really spoken to someone on the phone that I was a fan of.
Ok just trying to think of what else we talked about, a fair bit in 10 minutes haha I asked him about MMA vs Boxing and he laughed and said "don't worry, boxing will always be the bigger draw card" He also said he was going to move up to 147 if he had got past Hatton but after that fight he didn't feel like he wanted to keep going. He said something really profound like if he couldn't be number 1 then there was no point, there is number 1 or nothing I really liked what he said about the Hatton fight "Yes Nick (me) there was the low blows and the rabbit punches but those would be excuses. I make no excuses"
Tszyu was a class act, as a boxer and as a person.:good While I personally don't rate him as high as the other greats around his weight at the time, he was a class act.
