Toney should try to get a fight with the likes of Danny Green, Tarver, Mormeck, even Tyson Fury. Maybe even Huck or Lebedev, if Toney is going cruiser? Surely all those guys would offer a good purse and want an ATG on their resume.

He is an idiot. He would get MASSIVE exposure to euro fans and if he won and made a scene (legible scene, he has to spit out the marbles) right there on the ring demanding a Klitschko fight, he could get it and earn upwards to 1.8 mil.

But the short-sighted cheapo thinks too highly of himself.

That is one of the most insulting offers I've heard of for an atg like Toney, has-been or not...He could make more selling his autograph...

Toney can eat up 15 k in food in one setting so you know that was an insult.

He should hang 'em up for sure, he doesn't stand a chance against either Klitschko...I don't want to see him take that kind of beating, especially for next to nothing in return...

It was much more entertaining than some of Klitchko jab fests.

He should not fight Banks with thatkind of money. Instead he should take Rahman/Briggs route and fight D level opponent freguantly until bigger payday with someone in top-20/or against Klitchkos arives.

But maybe going to near cruiserweight to hunt some money matches is a good idea. If Klitchkos doesn’t want to fight him there really isn’t much to do for him in heavyweights

Not the first time an unemployed, lazy SOB declined a paying job. Happens all the time.

15k is a joke for a person of Toney's stature.

Toney should drop to cw as he could easily make 15k a fight with 200lbs. A fight with Lebedev in Russia could also be an option. James needs ro realize that he lost a lot of status as a hw by turning up out of shape ever since the Rahman II fight...

Toney VS Tarver at 200 is the ONLY fight I want to see him in

15 Grand is not a real offer. Especially if Jon wants to have a mega fight in Detroit with him. He will be hard pressed to get Rich Super Power to sign up for that purse.

James Toney deserves a minimum of 100K to fight in Detroit. He would be the main draw even if Banks is the guy looking for an opponent. If they did any type of half way decent promotion, James would also carry that.

Guarantee him 100K, put it in a decent sized venue, roll James Toney out on Drew and Mike, have him call in and talk to Stoney on 97.1, get a few articles out in the Freep and news, and please...get some TV involved. This is a BAD or Showbox level card. What about Versus, are they still in the game? I'd lobby for ESPN too but their fees are about as insulting as a 15K Toney purse for a fight like this. But heck, if nobody else will jump, I'd take ESPN's lame arse too.

    Same here.

However... if he plans on sticking around at HW, fighting a ranked fighter who is a regional champion...especially if you have a good chance of winning....isn't a bad idea.

You have to think big picture. He beats Banks and lands a fight with someone in the middle of the division, like maybe.... Dimi, Chambers, Helenius, Arreola.

If he looks amazing, he might be able to get a shot at the WBA paper title then a mandatory with Wlad.

    It could happen.
