I can't stand Ward, and its not because of the way he fights strangely enough

definetly agree, his style is atrocious to watch, like watching a SMW Ruiz with better handspeed but every interview I've seen he comes across charismatic and intelligent

Mares - Agbeko??? Man I swear fans like you don't know **** about boxing, Kessler got his ass kicked and dominated, he was already down 7 rounds when the first head-butt occurred in round 8 & down 9 rounds when the 2nd happened in the 10th round...

The head-butts although unfortunate were accidental & had NO effect on who was winning on the cards, I asked another guy this, seeing that there were only 2 visible head clashes in rounds 8 & 10, why didn't Kessler win any rounds up until those points...

You may be able to give 1 round to Kessler (round 5) but that's it, even tho he was shut out on my card, but all you whom dislike Ward because he's boring, or don't fight abroad enough, the simple cure is don't watch his fights, he's not a dirty fighter...

Every time someone claims he's dirty the same **** comes up, Mikkel Kessler, damn in order to be dirty should you have more fights and evidence to point to, Kessler got punished that's it that's all..

And for those of you who feel he was holding, Mikkel was doing as much holding as Ward, Ward holds as a form of defense, he dips in low in order to smother punches, he also does this in an effort to get close and fight on the inside and when he tried in-fighting against Kessler, Mikkel grab and held because he can't fight on the inside...

Get over that Kessler **** he lost and that what that is, Ward is the truth weather you like his style or not, all I can see is if you don't like it and think he's dirty and/or boring don't watch his fights...

Come on man, you cannot say for 100% sure Ward would have beaten Abraham in Germany. He would have been the overwhelming favourite - and rightly so - but you never know. And why shouldn't he have fought Kessler in Denmark? Kessler was the champion and established name, Ward was an up-and-coming prospect. Luckily for him Showtime want to make him their superstar, so he is being given preferential treatment.

And it's true American superstars don't usually travel but the crucial difference here is Ward is in a tournament. And in a tournament there should be a level playing field for all participants, which clearly has not been the case. What if the LA Lakers got to play every game at the Staples Center? Would that be fair?

I like Froch, I like Ward a bit more, but I would root for Froch in most other fights and I think he's great for boxing...

I personally think Ward would have beaten Abraham – who had nothing left in him – even in Germany. And yes, maybe he should have fought Kessler in Denmark. Kessler was, after all, the champ and the bigger name. But that’s his team’s fault for caving in. It was their responsibility to say “No, we’ll kickstart things from home, and travel after”. But I guess they were more happy to use their ‘home’ card on Abraham instead, when Taylor was made to go to Europe. So I don’t think Ward can be blamed for having that fight at home at a time when no one really knew how advantageous being the home fighter in the tournament could be.

And in regards to the level playing that was supposed to exist in the competition, I’ve kinda’ explained why this unfortunately didn’t happen. The two fighters that Ward was supposed to fight back to back – Taylor and Dirrell – pulled out with injuries. He then had to settle for replacements – Green and Bika – that weren’t part of the original Super Six equation, and weren’t really considered eligible enough to enforce the travelling stipulations on Ward. In fact, Bika wasn’t even part of the competition, was he? He was just a keep-busy opponent, if I remember correctly.

So the reason why he was allowed to get away with fighting at home, was because he spent half of the tournament fighting guys that didn’t even belong in there. Like I said in another post, the other contestants weren't impacted by the pull-outs like Ward was (something totally out of his control). The mandatory task of travelling no longer applied to him like it did to the others who remained relatively unaffected, in comparison, by the injuries.

You are suggesting that headbutts are intentional only if they are done sideways. I dont buy that as a valid point. You can headbutt straight forward just fine. What stops you?

Scroll to the slow motion replay at 05:00. Ugliest headbutt I have ever seen inside the ring. Even worse then Abraham vs Miranda, because Miranda does not get the strength of his whole body behind in the same way. Absolutely ****ing horrible.

I give you one thing. I am no mind reader. In theory it can have been in the heat of the moment. But personally I think it is far out to give Ward a pass for that one.

Scroll yourself to the slow motion replay at 05:00 and watch the billy goat Ward deliever the ugliest headbutt of modern boxing history. Gathering the strength of his body, the whole way down to his toes, he lauches forward and connects cleanly. All while his delusional fanboys trying to give him a pass :deal

Ward is a professional boxer, he should be used to the machismo and intimidation tactics. He comes off as whining to me. Froch is already annoying him. Ward is definitely talented and I would be surprised if he loses to Froch, but he is probably my least favorite boxer right now.

He's not whining, exactly. He's just like "C'mon, man. You think that stuff's gonna' knock me off my game? Grow up and save it for the fight."
